Does anyone know the flow numbers for stock 305 heads? I'm currious to see what they get.

Thanks

Rob

Only have the flow numbers for the "081" '87/'91
305 heads. They flow 195cfm@.500 in.(182@.400") and 110cfm@.500 ex.
Other stock 305 heads with 1.84"in and 1.5" ex valves
will flow real close to this as this is very typical.
The last set of 305 heads I ported and flowed were
"416" castings and flowed 225cfm in. and 140 ex. through
1.94x 1.60" valves.

Should give you an idea of where you're at and the potential.

The 081 castings should be on your car. The 416 casting was a similar head that was used on the LG4/L69/LB9 305s (I have pulled these heads off of all these engines)

Those number are almost an exact match for a set of Vortec heads.

The only thing is Vortec heads have a more efficient kidney shaped combustion chamber so they will make more power, even tho the flow #'s are the same.

The intakes were very simular but the vortec exhaust was better
unported than the "416"'s are ported.

Mine didn't. They were 228@.500" We have gotten them over 240cfm with mild, easily done porting though.

All heads were flowed on the same bench.
