KED85 and Valve Lash. Got a lot of slack from this one. Clearing up speculations.

Along time ago I read a post about setting vavle lash with a compression gauge.

So I'm at my friend's house whose dad works at Cummins diesel here in town and is an engineer and Drag Races a 454 700HP 69' Camaro.

They're setting vavle lash on his son's car and I bring up the compression gauge thing. . . . He starts laughing and tells me that's not right at all. I really trust this guy because well. . . when it comes to cars, he's second to none. He designs them at cummins and is sponsored by a speed shop here in town also.

I just want some more opinions here. Will setting lash by compression gauge work just as well?

I have never heard of that. I adjust mine with the car running.

I don't have any clue how adjusting valves with a compression tester should work. Usually you do it with a feeler gauge.
