fuel pump won't stop

What would cause the fuel pump to not stop running? I finally had to disconnect my battery. I started for the car first time and it ran fine (engine swap TBI to TPI), but now fuel pump will not stop running.

you did a TBI to TPI swap? I would first recheck your wiring, the relay could be sticking, and also I have seen on GM's if the oil pressure sending unit is bad, if its full of oil or something, it will short out inside, and will back feed and make the fuel pump run all the time. I had this happen to a lumina at work one time, it drove us nuts trying to figure it out. hops this helps some.
