LT1 with 3rd gen TPI?

lets say i can get an lt1 block for free, is it going to be possible to build this block up and use my tpi unit off my 87???

yes. check the motor swap board. Is it a good idea? Unless you have a modded TPI intake, no. New LT4 intakes are only $200 and used Lt1 intakes should be half that.

If you need an operating EGR it won't work. The Lt1 engine does not have internal EGR passages in the heads so the EGR on the TPI intake will not and can not work.

BTW, I also agree it's a bad idea to use TPI on a LT1 engine. Why not just use the stock LT1 intake???

I thought that the Lt1 is a reverse cooling engine, therefore the waterjacket on the 55-92 SBC heads intake and such will not match up on a LT1 block. Transporting the engine as a unit will work as long as you use a LT1 radiator (important if you have an automatic) The electronics are not the same, even though they seem like it. The TPI uses a btch fire technique, while the LT1 a sequential.

The shortblock (crank, rods, piston, balancer and flywheel) should bolt on to any 67+ 350 block.

Dont know if that awnsers any of your questions...

yeah, i didnt think that would work to well, but i dont have any wiring harness or anything, too much of a pain in the a** to make it work right, but i thnk i'm just going to sell it. thanks guys!
