Okay there's this kid I work with (dont get along with either, kinda went downhill after he had the nerve to ask me if he could smoke something in my car because he didnt want to do it in the open, and he couldnt understand why i was so pissed at him.) Well he always talk about how fast his sister's civic is and how he is getting it when he gets his liscense. Well, there's a girl at work looking for a cheap camaro, and I ran across a blown motored one for $300, so I told her about it. This kid then butts in with his infinite knowledge of cars. This is how the conversation went.

Menot talking to honda boy) For around $2000, you could have a 350 put in there, nice fast car.

Him: Why'd you want a camaro, their slow.
Me:As opposed to a honda?
Him: Dude, my sister's civic would kill your trans am. Your trans am is slow.
Me: Really, how fast is your sisters car?
Him: Well, last time we were at the dragstrip, we left all the DX badges on it so everyone would think it was slow, but then we ran 11 seconds at around 160 miles an hour. Shes got a 100 shot of "NAWS." I could kill your trans am with it.
Me: want to bet some money?
Him: Dude, I'll race you for pink slips.
Me: I won;t race for pink slips, if something f****s up on either car it isnt fair, and I have no use for some POS econobox. Lets go to lebanon valley, run there nice and legal and loser pays for the other guys gas and entry fee.
Him: How much is it to run.
Me: $10 or so.
Him: Oh yeah, we run there all the time. My buddy has a mostly stock regal that would kill your trans am.
By now I just walked away, I didnt point out that the regal not only had the same engine, it weighed more and was stock. Methinks, Im going to embarrass him in front of his friends. Take him to a back road, race about an 1/8 a mile and just laugh hysterically. I hate ricers. This kid not only wont tell me whats been done (Ive heard impossible scenarios about whats been done to it from him.) Anyways, if he ever needs a ride home from work, I'll just say that I wouldnt want him seen in such a slow car and he can walk.

 

Had a friend that claimed his little 80s Japanese 4 cylinder could kill my LTD and top out at 155. Uhhh, how does he know that? He claims he topped it out on 64 highway: a two lane with hills, curves, and small blemishes.
Does he have a 160 mph spedometer, I doubt it. More stupid assuming.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but most 4 cylinder cars in the 80s had extremely low gears. Subarus with 3.70 more or less, VWs with 4.11, Nissan/Datsun, and Toyota were the same. Most likely it was a Mit. Unless it's one of their fast cars, they are usually just as appalling as any other slow car.

I'll say this, if you are in a tiny car, it is very difficult for anything on the right side of 14 seconds to feel slow. Well not that slow. While I drove the old Subaru, I knew it wasn't that fast, but while I was in it, I felt like I was doing ok. Of course, it was one of the fastest non aspirated 4 cylinders of its time. That's not an impressive claim.
Race him, destroy him, then listen to his excuses. Most likely, he will never race you.

 

Please shut this kid up, I had a friend of mine tell me that a stock Integra vs a stock Mustang and Camaro, the Integra would win, and I would have loved to race him! Take his money. If you go up to LBV this Saturday I may see you there. Mustang Shootout, my dad will run in! My car isn't done

 

I cant get the car to lebanon valley this weekend sadly, it has no more 305 under the hood. I am currently in the process of ripping the 350 out of the donor truck to place in the trans am. Car wont be up and running until at least this weekend. I am here right now trying to get away. No more swearing at car for at least an hour.

 

Not that you'll need it, but if you want to really make him shake, tell him that since you have twice as many cylinders as him you think it is only fair to use 1/2 the shot of "naws" he is going to use.

My drunk roommate the other nite was talking about how his Dad used to have a stock CRX that ran 11s but it had intake, header and exhaust... I was just like no it didn't.

And I have a bunch of car pics in my room, mostly 3rd Gens from these boards and some other good old and new american muscle. He was like that CRX would get better mpg than any of those cars, I was like yeah ok, and a new SS will get 30mpg.

Not to flame but what is the point of this topic. There are always some idiots out there that insist their little ***** can fly. They back that up with claims of beating 13.0 second mustangs that were really just 4cyl ones. We all know about dumb ricers. At least post the results of this race not just a story about how dumb this kid is.

I saw some sort of ***** run a 11 second quarter on the old speedvision but this was a track only car and was striped bare bone and had all kinds of sponsers.

It sounds like some kid trying to look cool. Before you run be like "so are you going to run a 11" and see if he back down. I be it will be more like a 16 second run Then if you blow him away and he wants a re mach give him a head start and let him line up at the tree HAHAHA. A guy in a moded SS let some honda girl do that along with a second or two head start the went WOT and blew her doord off.
