Just in from racing and.......

Race #1: Crusing down the strip and what do I see in my mirror? Well I'll give you a guess....IT HAD FOG LIGHTS AND A FART TIP.....but this Honda Prelude with a black hood and a black trunk lid and some Import Stickers pulls up to me and revs the gerbils up, What a joke!!! So we pull up to a red light and he says I will put it on that bird, yeah right. But we race anyway...Light goes green I am stalled up and I leave him about 2 cars, 1st, to 2nd CHIRP! by that time I could see his fog lights in the rear view.....after all that he wouldn't even pull up to me again!!!!

Race #2: Was a 90ish Mustang 5.0 Once again we pull up to a light and whats this he gets me out of the hole, but by the time I got into 2nd I am right beside him, then out of no where comes the RED and BLUE lights, he pulls over and probably got a ticket but I didn't even let off the gas and lost him on a side street. Very Close one. But what I want to know is what didn't the cop come after me for running, Was it because the Mustang was closer?

No but I tell you what, watch your step the next few days. I've been in that situation and more than likely you will be harrased for a while. Before I got my IROC I used to race in my 92 Z24, after avoiding a ticket racing a neon, the next day about the same time that cop pulled me over. Didn't give me a ticket but he told me to watch my step. For the next 3 weeks, he wouldn't hesitate to jump behind me and "pressure " me from behind by riding my azz. Damm street racing

It's the ricers doing the 100 mph flyby and the big crowds that line up for the big money races in some places. 2 guys lining up at a light and having a little fun don't hurt nothing as long as they're prudent about it. It's the idiots blasting thruogh town at 100+ that are causing all the trouble! But now the cops are going to try to hammer everyone they see and still never stop street racing. They'll never stop it IMO.

i dont know about pulling him over instead of you- if you go to 3rdgen.org in the ask a cop forum they said they always go for the person that doesnt pull over,because they may have somehting to hide,etc.My 2 cents.

yeah prolly cuz you kept going, in the cops mindset it was easier for him to just bust the mustang that already slowed down than it was for him to speed up caych you and bust you. maybe he tried to use the radio and you just got off on the right street? hehhe

You know, we have that problem in our area too. The local police have both a dark grey 4.6 GT and a white/orange stripes LT1 Z28. Personally, I think them initiating a race is entrapment and therefore should be illegal. You wouldn't have broken any laws if they hadn't provoked you. I just have a real problem with that.

The other trick cops have by me is those new Impalas . You pass one on the highway thinking its some family car (one even had a nice paint job, not the usual monotone) and don't give it a second thought, then the lights come on.... Anyone know if they actually got V-8's into the new cop Impalas, or are the still FWD 3.8's? idrag2, your lucky man when I got my ticket the cop came after me because I was ahead (plus the girl I was racing was the cop's neighbor )

here in AZ there is still alot of street racing going on. but nfortunatly all the good races are like 30-40 miles from where i live, so i have to drive pretty far for a good race. granted i could put around town and play with imports and "stock" cars. but for decent races *u either have a s/c or nitrous unther the hood* i have to travel. the cops here *phoenix* really dont care much about the street racing, well im sure they do, but they dont follow sports cars around to see what they do. but there is 1 place here in az that cops do under cover stuff at. as in there are in regular cloths but in blown 69 camaros or vettes on juice or otehr mod'ed cars and they video tape u racing them and usually there is big raids on know "hot spots".

You = STUPID!!!

There is a big difference between "Street Racing" and "Stoplight Racing".

Learn the difference. Race where its safe, and po-po free. Just stay away from the big crowds of people in imports at "race spots" and you wont have to worry about cops.
