hello
hello
Just making my first post to say hi. I don't own an F-body yet, but I'm hoping to get an Iroc this summer once I get some money, I love those cars. My ride right now is a '98 Dodge Dakota SLT, its a bat out of hell off the line. Hopefully I can get some help here once I get my project Camaro, til then I'll help with my own limited knowledge. Peace.

Thanks for the warm welcome, nice to find some fellow car nuts. Time to get some sleep so I can recover from my weekend, so I'll let the night watch take over:

oh and im not a kid, thank you. b/c i drive a civic, does that make me a kid?
well, i dont want this to turn into a flame war of imports vs. domestic or whatever. that's not what this board is for, so unless people have intelligent input, dont post please. and btw, i have allways said that i love third gens, i also like imports too, and i have allways tried to help out when the ????'s come up about this or that import vs. a third gen or whatever
hate me for driving an import if you want, but keep the **** to yourself
sorry to rant, and, respect to everyone else who is mature about this
Cig?
I'd like a cig. right now, but I think you mean sig.
Welcome to the board! I know a guy who had a 5.9r/t running low 12's on the spray. It had a lot of work done, but its good to know that it is possible.
Have fun and post often!

A bunch of the Dakota R/T guys came up to the track on opening day a couple years ago and some of them were pretty quick. They're definitely on my list of trucks I like
yeah, the 5.9 R/T's are definately the fastest, but the biggest engine you could get in the non-R/T's is the 5.2 V-8 (unless its like 2001-2002, those have a 4.7), or sometimes the 5.9 comes in quad-cabs.
Back to one of the previous posts, my truck is a '98 SLT Extended cab. It's a V-6 (3.9) auto with 62,000 miles, I chose that because I need good fuel economy, payable insurance, and I do almost all city driving (stick=more fun, auto=more practical). It works great for me. I've driven the 5.9 stick, and its very fast but you almost have to throw cinderblocks or something in the bed to get traction because their is no weight over the rear axle
. Just one thing to watch and take note of, cause it surprises you the first time. Costillz91z, they're really great trucks, very practical (midsize truck, seating/belts for 6 in ext. cab, still has 6.5ft bed), that was why I chose it. Picked it up used at a Dodge dealership back when they were offering all the crazy deals on new ones, some guy decided to trade up, and I cut a deal with the dealership almost right away on this guys trade in (my baby
), so I made out pretty good. Oh, the other thing to watch out for is they come with 3.55 rear-axles. Standard. Plus you can get 3.92 posi's optional (like mine
). Any other questions on the truck or racing one I'll be happy to help if I can.
On a side note, I may be getting a Z-28 this weekend!!
Driving down to look at it Friday, hopefully its a saveable car (needs transmission and carb work, LG4) hate to jinx the whole thing by posting it, but I'm way too excited
