Integra and 4.sick die!

I was on my way to a friends house and I get stopped at a light. I'm in the center lane, with three lanes going my direction. A good ole' fart can equipped Integra rolls up on my left and revs. So, I pull the shifter back to low gear. Believe me, handing it to an Integra on my way to a friends will always brighten my day. So anyhow, we're getting ready to go when a '96 4.6(4.sick till '99) rolls up in the right lane. The light goes green, and I drop the hammer. I slam 2nd and then look in my mirror to see the mustang pulling out on the Integra. As I said, I LOOK IN MY MIRROR TO WATCH THE MUSTANG AND THE INTEGRA!!! bye bye suckers...TPI torque rocks!!!

5.slow, 4.sick - I rag on them all. Truth is I'm soon to by a 96-97 4.sick GT and put the 99 up heads on it. - any how, just thought I'd add, that new Acura RSX(260hp, 6speed) is slow as *****. Some kid nailed one beside me at a light and when I shifted 2nd I lifted to half throttle. He Still Couldn't Catch Up!!! what a piece...

its all fun and games, RICE THIS!!!!

Yeah, I beat a 1.8 liter that tried to race me, on HIS challenge. I did this with a trans-planted 220,000 mile 5.0 TPI w/ a cat-back, and an airfilter, in a car that tipped the scales at 4600lbs with a huge stereo system.....strap that with a car that wieghs in around 2200lbs that hasn't been around long enough to have over 100k on it....its all fun and games though. He's the one who challenged, not me.

thats so true. do they actually think we are going to let them throw revs at us unanswered? if they want to get destroyed, im willing to give it to them. why would you throw revs at a much faster car anyway unless they actually believe they have all that horsepower from wings and stickers? what i dont understand is that they can pair me up at a dragstrip with slow cars (i raced a newer Pathfinder once) and everything is fine, but on the street i get crap like "you beat a 4cyl in your Vette, your a big man". no one is limiting them to a small 4cyl displacement. THEY bought the car, and THEY are gonna have to live with geating beaten in street races. if you dont like it, make your import faster, or buy a faster car. but in near stock imports (99% of them) dont parade around like some kind of missle on wheels. you are gonna get taken out, easily

i asked a washboy at work: "those honda engines, how many bolt mains do they have?"

washboy replies, "whats bolt mains?"

he then claims his 175 HP civic took a 2002 corvette

this other kid has a intrega with every possible appearance mod done to it

he even has a roll bar

whats it run? 15's

just to clarify

i was NOT trying to put CrazyHawaiian in his place

i just can not stand all these imports that are running around claiming to be 12 second cars, then you drive them and they cant get out of their own way

its giving youngins like me a bad name

when i go to a car show, i like to talk to the cars' owners and let them see my broad knowledge of cars................these kids dont know jack and must be stopped

- very true -

I am only 19 and a lot of people look at me like I don't know jack about cars. I grew up around it. My dad was drag racing before I was born. I helped build and I sometimes drive my father's 9 sec 68 Camaro. There are to many people who try to front like they know what they are talking about, but when it comes down to it, they couldn't build an engine if thier lives depended upon it. -

- as for CrazyHawaiian, sorry about the comment of putting you in your place, - not what I intended it to be, just noting that the Integra challenged me to race him, not visa-versa - no disrespect intended by anything I've said

My main problem is the left over peices

I "raced" my friend in his camry the other night... of course it wasn't serious, we were just heading home from our other friend's apartment... anyhow, the people next to my friend (3 lanes) looked a little concerned when he revs and looks over at me... the light turned green and as he described it later, he had his foot on the floor and I kept getting farther away... So I get on the highway onramp which my friend didn't expect and I look back and he is battling with a neon to get behind me... It appears to me that the Neon thought I was trying to race him LOL That is the 4th Neon this month...

What did I learn? '87 Camrys just can't hang with a Firebird, and the average Neon driver's estimated IQ continues to drop...

I don't exactly know how my mind works, but I think I remembered this because you were racing on a three lane road and there were three lanes (one turning lane) at this light... oh well, it was funny to me.

and yes 89camaroRSV6, you can brag about beating a 2200# 4 cyl w/ a 3400# 6cyl.

He meant 3400 Lb... not 3400 CC, no 3.4 ever came in a thirdgen... # is the pound sign...

Edit... If somebody revs at you, and you win it's lagit no matter what they have under the hood... and no excuse is lagit if it has anything to do with power to weight... they challenged you, they must have thought they could beat you... maybe missing a gear, but that's kind of a cheap excuse.

I would rev at a 911 or something just to see them go...

that new Acura RSX(260hp, 6speed)
I think you mean the CL, the RSX has the 200 hp 4 banger. I do think its cool that they are putting a 6-speed in a family car (CL)

the average Neon driver's estimated IQ continues to drop...
Whats an IQ? . It was probabaly an automatic, they are 17 sec cars stock.

oh yea, if he revs at you, no excuses about having 1/2 the cylinders, its his fault for not having enogh car to beat you.

yeah the rsx type s is 200hp. the base model is 160. the type s is the only one with a 6 speed. and yes the cl has 260 and if i am not mistaken the base tl has 225hp. i may be wrong about that though

My .02

My .02 cents....

I have been trying to avoid this subjeect
lately, but some of the responses in
here drove me to say this..

The beginning of this post talked about a dude who beat a import car in a race with a 5.0 TPI thirdgen

then Crazy Hawaiin responded with the comment.. "ewwwwww you beat a 1.8 4 cylinder"

Ok.. heres my beef......

I have been arguing with people for the last couple weeks, and their defense is "you dont realize how tough us imports are.. you think cuz you have a v8 you are so fast.." etc... etc..

now.. when one gets beat... their whining and sayuing.....

well Ooooooooooooo you raced a 4 cylinder your so tough.... well you guys are the ones that claim your 4 cylinders are so quick.. it seems that its only when your ont he bottle.....

cheaters

By making that statement, "but you have twice the cylinders" the import crowd is only backing up what we have been preching for years, "there is no replacement for displacement"!!!

yep..

It's just funny.... Ive been reading
messages allover this website...

one was about an S2000 which
is a really expensive car. its like
around the pricee of a new Corvette!

people were saying that stock from the factory this thing is "maxed" out.. there is only a few hop up parts available and they are really expensive.
all for a 30mpg car that runs 14's in the 1/4.. and that's sposed to be impressive??????????

for the price of a corvette mind you...

a new corvette will run in the 12's stock and there is plenty of room to play with the engine and stuff to get it into 9's if a person so desired.......

I agree with the phrase

"there is no replacement for displaceement" thats a good one

Well.. it's not cheating that they go on the bottle...... but it's just lame I guess that people claim that a car (which is only fast on the bottle) disses american muscle cars which mind you dont needd the bottle to win the race if it was engine against engine.
Someone is going to disagree with my statement.......it's a given......

bottom line is, you have to know what your car is capable of...if you want to rev at somebody and race them...but if you lose...well dont be a sore loser. no one likes to lose, but use it as inspiration to make your car faster.
oh and i think that we have heard every argument so far as to the import vs. domestic
imports:
im lighter (usually) so my non modded 4 banger should be able to run 12's
smaller motor-ooh better gas mileage- "so that means i can race MORE and ill just beat you when you run out of gas"
90% fuel injected- so i dont really have to tune it-WRONG
i have better power to weight - (but if i would do real mods, i might actually go fast)
VTEC - say no more!
let's race on the freeway - cause i gots vtec and no torque
i didn't have my windshield washer lights put in yet cause you know they add 20 horse to the wheels
your a ******* domestic

domestics:
i have more displacement - "but your motor is newer"
i have torque
my carb needs tuned
mine's a v8 - so its automatically faster -"but if i lose its cause your motor is newer"
your a punk-*** preppy *****
both: i think there's something wrong with my car (im probly just afraid to race
im just afraid to lose, cause if i do, my car is still faster so ill beat the other guy up, instead of go home and do more mods
did i miss any?
btw, this was meant to be mainly sarcastic, i think people need to laugh more here ill post my sig, you can laugh at those, cause both cars are slow- but im workin on it

i am in no way cracking on anyone on this board, but you are all with the exception of a few, biased against imports. your mentality is if it isn't american, then its crap. in truth, i will respect anything thats fast. but i prefer imports. i also wouldn't mind driving an 02' camaro ss or TA i just like the style of newer imports and as long as its a 14 second or better car, i am happy. i am a high school kid and nobody that is competitive around here are running in the 12's and 13's. i just don't care the 10 and 11 second older, american cars. sure they will fly, but they are so f****** ugly. no style what so ever
just my .02 cents

NO style, I know thats your opinion, but come on!!! A 69 Camaro has sooooo much more style than a 2000 Honda anything. I don't mind Imports, my frind has a 12 second 3000GT and another friend has a 12 second Supra TT, but I HATE every kid with a fart tipped Civic, or Accord, or Integra, or 4 cylinder ECONOMY car that thinks it's "The Bomb" and wants to race! I go to high school so I see them everyday, and I get more tired of the HORRIBLE sounding exhaust and the 3000 rpm clutch drops, you wouldn't understand! Nothing against stock imports, or modded RX7, 300ZX, 3000GT, SupraTTs, and WRXs, but a modded Civic or Integra, or RSX, gets no respect from me at all!! If that seems narrowminded, oh well, thats why I drive an AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR!!!

The problem I have with rice is most of the time a guy will buy an intake and exhaust, put on a wing and some wheels that are just too big for the car. Here is a good story. My friend and I were cruising in my T/A last summer bored out of our minds. In the parking lot where we work this Orange Eclipse RS is sitting there, fits the profile perfectly, huge rims, fart pipe, and two-stage spoiler. We pull over to "admire" this beast when the owner pulls in with his son to take it home. He offers me a test drive and I say why not. So I take it to the first light, floor it and am totally dismayed (auto by the way). Absolutely no power anywhere except from 3500 to 5000rpm. I ask the kid what has been done to it and he says "intake and exhaust." Doesn't know what kind just says its fast with the new intake and exhaust. Well my Aunt has the same car with more features and is stock. I drove it not long ago, it would have stomped this car all over the road. The mods killed the performance of the car. I am not trying to start a flame war with Import Drivers, I am just saying that most riceboys don't have a ****ing clue what they are doing.

i think its funny how everyone is so quick to yell rice when some idiot does stupid mods to an import and thinks hes fast ... but when someone that owns a domestic acts like an idiot and puts exhaust and thinks he runs 12's ... i don't hear anyone saying anything? Both groups have ppl who dont know what they're doing.

Maybe I would have a different view on imports if they disrespected me like you guys describe. Where I live most of the ppl in the car modding community stick together ... I mean everyone has their own little pet peeves with certain model cars and ppl race and whatnot (I have a personal grudge against supras), but we don't have as much hate here as some of you do. I goto a monthly event at the tracks dominated by imports and nobody has ever said anything disrespecting me or my car. Just race good and people will respect you. Also have a good attitude and people will respect you. Sure some ppl might say something stupid but who cares? Does it really matter to you that much? I know lots of ppl who drive imports and they are really cool. We stick together because there are greater evils to be fought .. politicians and lawmakers that want to stop us from driving modified cars on the streets. Now there's something to be mad about!!

Now there's something to be mad about!!
im with the crazy hawaiian, both sides have their problems, and btw, why does there have to be sides?

There has to be two sides .. racing is a competition and there needs to be a winner and a looser. Its just the nature of competing with someone. The problem is the people that continue on with the hate after the race is done ...

I think what you're hinting at is the difference between a real enthusiast and a poser...

It doesn't matter what a person drives, if they've got a good attitude and are into fast cars they're cool. Now when Junior puts a set of flowmasters on his 5.0 and suddenly thinks he's got a racecar, or when 'lil Eminem puts a huge fartpipe and wing on his Accord and thinks he's got a racecar...that's when I've got a problem.

Hey Nic, I have a racecar!!!!! J/K

I hang out with some import people, even a few have riced out Accords and Civics, they know my car will kill theres and they are nice people! I just hate when a kid puts an "intake" (actually an air filter, but they call it an intake) and an exhaust on a Honda and calls out every Mustang and Camaro he sees.

hey, i have no problem with american muscle cars that look half-way decent and when i said older american cars, i meant like from the 70's and 80's. i was just amazed at the narrow mindedness and sometimes even ignorance people show on this board for imports. i know this is a thirdgen board but most of the people on this board own 14 or 15 second cars. granted there are a good few with better, but in general they are not and they talk they they are better than imports and such. there is a difference between an import owner and a *****. personally, i think the people that whine about n2o being "cheap" and cry "rice" at every import sighting can be put in the same category as the actual intake-boasting, 17 second *****.

OK... Yes I am into "Performance". That covers a VERY wide area. I am into both sea of performance, 1 by owning camaro's the other by my business.

My definition of rice. A car that is overly done in decoration that has nothing under the hood. Meaning a Meter maid can outrun it in her lil electric cart.

Import. a car that was has its origins overseas. Menaing a car that was tested, built, and designed over seas.

A nice car. A car that stands out, but not because of its "flash". Hell I have seen camaro's and firebirds that have had too many things done to them and I called them "american rice". A nice car does not have alot of external modifacations. And if ANY MODIFACATIONS are doen its to compliment the lines of the car, not exagerate them.
I consider some of these 4-10 inch cowl induction hoods rice. Its not needed, its for "flash" a conservitive 2-3 MAYBE 4 but thats it. Anything over that your changing the body lines.
Rims... whoo.. rims... too much to say about them. I have seen some real doozies on all forms of cars. Lets just say that a 80's camaro DOES NOT look good with 13" gold spoke wire rims pushed 6 inches outside the fender well.

Badge switching.. unless you got it it FLAT OUT LYING... PERIOD.
Body panel switching.. owners preferance.

Theres lots more but I amin the middle of my Cisco Networking class and I have real work to do...

Hey bigals87z28 ive seen and raced a civic with those bars in it, he also had the bazooka bass tube that looks like a bottle. It was a 96 and I had seen him earlier that night but had never gone up to him or anything, but he had his car opened up and showing off his ride. So I thought he had nos. And he had a bodily moded car, but thats it. He pulled up to my stock 84' Z28 at a light and started to rev. I knew if he didnt use the juice then I would walk all over his a$$ but know there was no way my stck car could hang with 125 hp at the touch of a button on a 12 yr newer car. Well we took off and I left him so far behind me I thought his car had broken down or something!!! I didnt know what happened So I slowed down to the speed limit and like 5 mins later he came by me all excited that he was passing me. I was like wtf. Then later that night my friend caught up with me and I told him about it and turns out he knows the guy and when I found out about the bottle I was LMAO!
