I raced 2 3rd gens today.

First Race: 91 Z28, L98 powered by a 700-R4.
Mods: K&N, No Smog **** and pump, gutted cat, exhaust system, new tires and the car was lowered.

We launched he jumps by 1/2 a car and we end up the 1/4 mile by him ahead of me by one car. We did it again it’s the same thing he is ahead by one car.
What was strange that he was riving at 3rd gear by the end of the 1/4 mile (3rd gens don’t shift to OD at WOT) and he was shifting to 2nd and I'm still in my 1st gear. Are these 3.73 gears?

Second Race: 89 IROC-Z, LB9 powered by a T5 tranny.
Mods: K&N, gutted cat, Hooker muffler and a set of new tires.

We launched he jumps by 1/2 a car (the new tires did great) by 3rd gear I was ahead of him by 1 1/2 length.

I think I have a slow L98 car. Can somebody explain something please? Thanks.

My mods: high flow cat and K&N.

Time out here. The first race was L98 vs L98, with your car having less mods. You lost. The second race was a LB9 manual vs L98 auto, both lightly modded, you won, but it was a close race seeing as how the LB9 manual is ALMOST as fast as the L98, but in the end the higher hp/tq car(yours) won. Seems to me your car isn't particularly slow, you just raced a more modded version of your car(and lost), and won to a lesser powered car. This is just how I see it, not trying to be rude or anything. Now just go out and get yourself some big *** gears, and you'll probably smoke the hell outa both of em.
