95' Formula 6speed Vs 89' Vette

theres this guy whos been coming to our local cruise spot that owns a 95' Formula with the 6speed trans. all it has for mods is a Corsa cat-back exhaust. he claims to have run a 13.5 in it (mph unknown). eventually, everyone who hangs out there will try to get me to race him. i was wondering what you guys think the outcome will be?

You'll beat him. If you ran the time you said you did in your sig you should have no problem. LT1 cars are low 14 second cars. The catback shouldn't be enough to even be close!

He must be a good driver, but like said if you can run that time again, I'd say you got him.

I'd say if he is a good driver you will have a tough time beating him. My buddies 94 z w/6 spd. has beat his dads 90 vette both times they raced.

is your dads Vette modded? maybe he was spinning alot during his launch, or the race was from a roll (where the LT1 really shines)? typically LT1 fbodies and L98 Vettes are about the same in power. i have run consistant 13.6s in the quarter but was wondering if you guys thought his 13.5 with only a cat-back was for real, or just BS

I don't think that 13.5 is real I think he was lying a little unless he did something else to the car is a really good driver. I think you have got him. You sound like you know how to launch and how to race so I think you will get him. Keep us posted on what happens.

Yea you got a nice 2.06 60ft, pfft tires a spinning eh??? how u think i felt with an almost 2.2 u should take him almost no problem with a launch, some of those 350s with 6spd are running 3.42s out back, and if im pulling mid 14s stock a LT1 should have no problem to hit high 13s with some 3.42s and a 6spd. catback shouldnt be enough to get ya but no doubt u should be ahead, just make sure u dont light em up tohard.
