I just got home from burrying the speedo at 140mph on 66. I was wondering how fast you guys have gotten to?

145mph in my IROC,120 in my lincoln,155 with the top down in my friends 93' vette..that's a ride. And i'll hopefully match the 145 in my IROC with my SHO when i get it on the road. 7000+ RPM redline is a nice thing.

I need to invest in some aftermarket guages. Maybe a 180mph speedo. The thing about getting to 140 was the car shifted into overdrive, and i didn't want to take my hands off the wheel. So, when i was getting up near 140, I was getting back into my power band so it actually started accelerating faster than it was around 125. If I would have left it in drive, i could have gotten to 140 in much less time.

Had the bird at around 100, but with the 85 mph speedo, who can tell. I had the 85 pegged for a few seconds, and that car pulled like it had no force against it. I knew I was going to fast when my father told me to slow down.

Had the camaro speedo over to the 10 km part on the 85 mph/ kph speedo. On snow tires. Experiment I would never do again. And it took a long time to get there too.

In my '97 SS:

140 3 times
135 6 times

none since....I finally grew up.

I would consider doing it again once my Formula is completed (probably in a month), since I've never taken the Formula faster than 115. But I know I shouldn't.

"96? I didn't know this rig could go that fast, the speedometer only goes up to 85!"
