Yeah
I smoked a 2000 528ci 4 door when my car was still a TBI 305, I did everthing you could do (chip, ram air, headers etc., gears, 1.6 rockers) and I gave him a head start and still won. - it was an automatic though

I think you have a very good chance. Though I don't know a lot about the BMWs, I took a convert one when I had the LG4 with headers.

You shouldn't have much trouble with him. It's not an M series car. Sure there are quick bimmers out there besides the M series but a 528ci is not one of the quicker ones.

You'll have him for sure. I raced a 328 when I had my stock LG4 and just edged him. 5 series is far heavier than the 3 series.
Happy killing!
Happy killing! Are u guys sure about this. I have a 1985 IROC Z with a 305 TPI auto and 3.42 gears. Hes got a 1999 BMW 528I with a 6 speed. Im not sure if I will win.
Does anyone have 1/4 mile times for his car.

They are rated at about 180bhp and far less torque than our cars. I would guess they would weigh as much if not more with all the luxuries synonimous with the Marque. I had 2.73 gears when I left him, and it was from about 60- 120 mph- when I backed off.
Like I say I think you will definitely take him.

My wife drives a 525i. Based on my experience with this car, I think the race will be closer than it may seem. If this guy knows where to shift to keep the engine in it's optimal power range, it will be interesting.
