got a race w/ a REAL type-R integra, he had an intake n that was it. i got him by a car length. all the import guys think type-R's are the *** or something. i may have only beat him by 1 to 1-1/2 car lengths but i only have a 305, it was fast for a stock import. i know a 350 w/ slight mods would blow one away big time. oh also my manager has a 2001 honda prelude sh w/ dc header, thermo tech. exhaust, AEM intake , v-tec controller, and pullies, i beat him by a car length too. so bring that rice, my v8 is hungry

oh, and it's a TPI 305, u have a 305 TBI in an iroc? i thought all of those were TPI motors.

 

Nope L03's came in IROC's. I got one in my 88. Wish it was TPI though. Good race though. If you beat a type R I say no need to worry about any other rice......except maybe a type R on the bottle.

The NHRA should have a dragster with an extra seat, and a program were they take backwards, upsidedown, and sideways visor wearing sissys down the track so they can under stand what fast is, heck you could take them down the 1/4 in any muscle car (440 6bbl Super Bee or R.A. I don't get it....the money these people put into imports to run 10s....on the pro level, is a HUGE SUM......put that money into a V8 and you are running 4 ands 5.......

Yeah, I agree with what you are saying, but it seemed like he was categorizing all imports as "rice". Maybe that wasn't the intention, and I was just unclear about what he really meant.

 

I guarantee that any punk in a type R will think he has hell on wheels pulling off his 14.5 1/4 runs. I would say the NSX is probably about as fast as they come stock... that's good for high 13's I believe...

The Rx7 TT and Supra TTs are probably in the same boat... but they're in a totally different category being rotary and inline sixes

 

Yeah i don't define all imports as "rice". Its the bunches of idiots that all show and no-go that are rice (yeah this includes domestics). There are plenty of cool imports out there. I know this guy who has a '90 CRX and he put a "big" 1.8L VTEC engine/5speed combo out of an acura (i think) and he put a T3 turbo kit on it and re-did the suspension and that thing MOVES. Its probably only pushing 250-300HP but the car weighs nothing (<2000 lbs ) and he's running well into the 12's on pump gas. And he's done no exterior mods except for some nice rims. Now VTEC and FWD aren't my cup of tea but i'm with cars like that you can sure make an exception.

Do you get my point? Every time people on here beat an import they're always like "RICE SUCKS!!" or something tremendously ******* sounding. I know people on here aren't a bunch of rednecks, but that's exactly what it sounds like. Every other board I've been on, people have at least been civil and don't rip on other cars (except for pure rice.. that's another story).. Unless the guy is a total dick about things (ooh.. story on that down below..) they just say I raced such and such and won.. and don't say "stupid rednecks".. Do you think that's a bit too much to ask? All it's doing is making you look dumb when you say ignorant comments like that.

And on another note.. my friend was telling a story about this guy at a national MR2 meet last weekend, they're at the drag strip and this guy's racing his MR2 against something domestic, I forget what.. and some dude walks up to my friend and goes "I wouldn't bet on that there MR2".. the race starts and the guy runs like a high 12 in the MR2 and mauls the other car.. I guess he talked to him later and the guy in the MR2 had the boost turned down and didn't bother using his Nitrous (yeah I hate Nitrous too.. but he didn't use it was my point..) I just found it to be a funny off-topic story.. I don't know where that came from.

How can you say that "Type R= Type Slow" when you only beat him by a car length? I don't know much about f-body's but i do know that a 1LE are supposidly one of the quicker ones... anyway, personally i think that Integra Type R's (real ones) are sweat as well as Preludes. Just looking at HP, you car should beat a Type R and a Prelude (stock vs. stock) because your car would have close to 250hp when they have 190-200. I know that weight plays just as big a part, but Camaro's generally will beat Integra's

Also, i know you guys dont like Imports, well most of you don't, but i dont like the stereo-type that because a car is a import, it is atomatically an *****....

I think the point was that the Type R's are supposidly quicker ones from the import crowd. They have a great power to weight ratio. As for the 1LE, it still has the same engine as the other F-Bod's. It's just a few tenths quicker because it has a lot of weight adding options deleted. It still only has 230hp or 240hp pushing a 3300lb car.

 

i wasn't try'n to say that type-r's aren't fast for what they are, i just was stating that everyone in the import crowd thinks a type-r integra is one of the best stock imports. they talk like it's ***. lol. compared to a v8 they aren't even a match. and beast_350, if i wanted to really beat him bad i would have warmed up my drag radials n got a crazy launch, then i would have won by like 2 car lenghts. anyway i don't talk **** about ALL imports, my friend has an integra gsr w/ every bolt on possible and a t3/t4 turbo kit w/ front mount intercooler. all i can say is when we race it is not pretty, he spanks my z28. so i give credit to the REAL imports out there.
