Well, I decided to head to the Berlin turnpike tonite, the local cruising spot, and it was an interesting night indeed. Me and a buddy go to cruise, and we started off with lazer tag. That was tiring, but then I see a flat tire on a volvo with 3 really good looking chicks who havent the faintest clue about it. I change the tire, and get my picture taken with them and my car. Will post that when I get a shot.

Then the fun starts. I get myself Taco Bell, and get behind this 88 ish trans am. I follow him, and kinda stalk him through traffic. I keep lining up at like a 40 mph roll, he keeps gunning ahead. I decide Im not going above 60, and sure enough he keeps like getting ahead of me going over that thinking hes hot stuff. So I get next to him at a light, a few cars back, and he asks me what ive got in mine. I told him I had a 350 (shouldve said crappy running 305 like I usually do). Hes like I think thats what I have. I couldve sworn I heard this car being standard, unless he was shifting by hand, so i figured it was a 305. Anyway, when we finally get to a light, I say, lets go to 50. He's like, good just the speed limit. So I stand on the brake, get the converter to 1800, light turns, I floor it and spin for 15-20 feet. He was a little late off the light. Didnt matter, i pulled on him slowly till my motor got to 4000, then bam I pulled hard and had two or three car lengths to 50. He drives by yelling you suck out the window. Wait, it gets better. I drive another 100 yards or so and see cop lights. I get pulled over, I told the cop I was sorry, hes like, youll be down here next weekend, Im like yeah your probably right. Long story short $78 ticket for unsafe start, and a lecture about how racing is an offense that you go to court over and lose your liscense for.

But I did still win, and I think that guy realized he probably has a 305. As for my ticket, do I dare fight it, or should I just pay it because if the cop shows up and says I was racing I'm screwed. It says if i pay it, I get no points added to my liscense, does this mean its clear off my record or do they add it there still for say an insurance company to nail me through the nose for?

 

I wouldn't fight the ticket. Because if you did fight it, and they do nail you for racing, that's a LOT more in insurance (and points) than an "unsafe start" would be.

lol sounds like a great story to me !! Glad im not the only one getting tickets around here.. I haven't had any lately cuz my babys 305 is getting a makeover. maybe ill get the HP over 200 witht his rebuild.. heheehh.. Anyways play it safe!

 

Well you beat him too bad it cost you a ticket. I wouldn't fight it because you will just be given harsher penalties when the judge finds out what you were doing. Just pay the fine and go to traffic school if you can.

 

Yeah that suxs, my bro just got a ticket for the same thing he did burnout at a light, he has a 1980 monte carlo 383.
