95 GT vs 86 IROC

Guy round town just a got a bone stock 95 GT 5spd. I've got an 86 IROC (mods in sig, not many but they're mods). Think I can win? Any pointers if I do decide to take him on?

I think it can happen. Those 5.0 SN95 cars are slooow. 215 HP in an extremely heavy shell compared to the 225HP motors they had in the much lighter fox bodies. A 5 speed at best will be a low 15 second car stock. The camaro 5 speed will be able to match that if not beat it. The auto would be much closer though.

I've driven a stock 95 5.0L (ex-girls car) to a 14.8 @ 94MPH. They can get into the 14's. but in my opinion they are overweight and underpowered. I'll stick to my fox (despite wanting to get some SN95 brakes on my car ASAP)

yeah horspower TV just dynoed a 95 GT with a 5-speed to 163 RWHP. unfortunately the 86 had the peanut cam and you aren't too far ahead of that. Let us know how it turns out.

Yeah I have 700R4. But, this guy is a recent *****-convert. Maybe he won't know how to handle the power. I'll let ya know how it turns out.
