Is the S10 a 5 speed? Most 4 bangers are 5 speed and he'll prolly take you if he can drive.

Car: too many ...
I own a s10 with the 2.2ltr inline 4 with CAI and Exhaust (dual flowmasters) and a 5 speed. I honestly think I could outrun it on foot. 1st and 2nd gear suck, 3rd gear is kinda wild, 4th and 5th suck too ... tho a downshift to 4th going 70 will pull to 100 pretty nice. I dont know how fast/slow the 2.8's are but I think you should have a really good chance. The 2.2 s10's were just made to get from point A to point B IMHO (the previous owner did the engine mods, dont ask me why lol)

i looked at the specs for a new 4 liter s-10 and its 120 hp at like 5000 rpm and 140 lbs torque and a little over 3000 lbs its 5 speed.. my car is 135hp and 165lbs torque and a little over 3000 pounds
so i think i might have a chance

Well my 1995 S-10 SS V-6 weighs 2,995lbs. Most F-Bodys weigh 3100+

It will really depend on what gears the S-10 has too, 3.73 or 4.10

I think it will be really close and it might come down to how well he can drive stick. If yours is auto learn how to manually shift it cuz I've heard it really helps. Good luck!
