305 vs 93-97 LT1 Modded Formula
Okay so it's a nice night, I'm starting to fix all the little dingys in my car, like the fuses, i cleaned the inside MADLY and checked the home made ram air, timing light, and wanted to test the new tires out. So I cruise to 159th and Harlem where a lot of cars go to pick a race so I see this 93-97 Modded LT1 Formula w/atleast an exhaust. He had a shiftkit also. So I follow him and get next to him, im in 2nd and hes got auto
doing about 40mph, and his hot g/f is sitting in shotgun with my buddy just cheeling. So we both get on it and me in the power band I pull about 1/2 car and grab 3rd gear (thank you Nittos!). So we come to a light, i rev to 2500rpms dump her, and i spun a little to much, i stomped on the gas (gotta find the sweet spot) and he took me by 1/2 a car in 1st and had 1 1/2 on me by end of 2nd. so we chilled and he asked lets do this for real like a 1/4 mile i said fine. We drive about 2 miles to this non residential area, pull up to the green light and hes like "GO", i didnt spin this time, not even a modded LT1 Torque kept up with me, i had a car on him in 1st, nailed 2nd and had 1/2 a car, grabbed 3rd he put 1/2 on me and I just slowed down at about 70mph. I figured he won neway dont keep attempting. Was nice race tho, his g/f was talkign **** until i had to say this is a bone stock 305 then they shut their mouths. oh well he musta been 13s or something cuz he grabbed 3rd with his shiftkit. what do the 93-97 LT1 Formulas run stock and anyone have any friends with a few minor mods??

LT1s should run high 13s to very low 14s depending on the driver. A modded one could easily hit mid 13s. That is extremely good for a 305 to take one off the line and only lose by 1/2 car. You have a very good running 305. Good kill!!
Get those mods you want and should definately stay with him or beat him. Good luck.
Probably high 13's to low 14's. The LT1 project Camaro w/automatic in GMHTP ran 13.8's bone stock but it was in cool March weather. Hey, I was in Chicago this past weekend for a wedding and was messing with a red 3000GT VR4 Twin Turbo on Cass Ave. near I-55. We caught a light and the two guys in the Mitsubishi were looking over like they wanted to race so when the light changed I jumped on it and blew out to a couple car lead by about 60 MPH. Anyway I get caught in some traffic and they pull up and start whining about they didn't know I wanted to race so being the wise a$$ that I am, I say "What's the difference, you'll lose anyway". The driver gets all upset and starts yelling "You wanna race?" So I say sure. They then proceed to get into the left turn lane and take off. I'm sitting in the right lane thinking WTF. I know they probably would have killed me but it would have been cool to see. Oh well! That's all the action I saw all weekend. Did see some of the cars from the Super Chevy Show in Joliet, including a '02 Berger SS. Is Dukes on Harlem still around?

No, Unfortunately I didn't have time with the wedding and all to get to the show. I did see plenty of awesome Chevy's in the Joliet-Plainfield area though. I saw the Berger SS as I was jumping on I-80 at Larkin. It was in a caravan with a SS vert and a couple other 4th gens. All were rolling on 17x9.5 and 17x11 wheel combos.
I figured it might be a decent race with the VR4. I've added a couple things since the time in my sig. Hoping for 13's, once the heat and humidity break!

Aye dukes is still there, hehe i go up there sometimes. and yes my engine is bonestock. headers do not count, those rediculous manifolds were insane power killers. the internals are stock and thats where the big power is. should i said "i did tb bypass, timing advanced, this and that." my cars bone stock, exhaust is minor bolt on, even people who dont race have headers/exhaust just for sound so v8 sports cars with exhaust is stock.

Well if that is the case...then I am bone stock too!!!
I guess our definitions differ...I think bone stock is all factory parts(exhaust,electrical,fuel)...Your's is if the internals are stock, then you have a stock motor.
Way to hang with the LT1 by the way
