89' IROC-Z vs. 94' Firebird Formula
89' IROC-Z vs. 94' Firebird Formula
I would like to know who do you think would win in a race. The firebird is a 6-Speed with flowmasters and the IROC is a stock 4-Speed Auto.

Formula's are not that much lighter than a Trans am. I think it's only like a 30 pound difference. Then, the z28 is lighter than both by a bit. The Z28 is 3442 pounds, the formula is 3479 pounds and the trans am is 3505 pounds. All this info was taken from carpoint.com.

In all honesty street racing is any ones game, I ran a 1LE 92 Z28, LB9 5 speed car, for a good way through the he hung with me, after that I walked away. But if that Iroc is stock, the Formula has the obvious advantage.

The LT1 6spd cars should win by about 5 tenths over a good running 350 TPI car. So 4-5 car lengths in the quarter mile as a rough estimate, made mostly once the speeds get up there as the low end is the TPI's strength. On the street you might be surprised though, I've seen some downright horrible drivers get creamed with what should have been easy races, but the LT1 should win if both are driven equally.
