Why does everyone call a stroked 350 an LT1?

LT1 is a 350 once you stroke it all you have is a 383 with LT1 parts.

...cause its easier to say LT1 383, the 383 Stroker with the modified LT1 Intake.

I said the LS1, I think your stock heads are going to hold you back, and that cam is kinda small for a 383. You might get it off the line, but after that....

Agreed. Though it may take a little more stall.

there is a guy in my town with an 86 iroc. Dark blue, LT1 stroked to 383, i don't know what else. He definatley has a cam, a TC w/nice stall and i believe it's 5-speed. He runs 12 flat consistently. His best is like 11.87. I don't remember his trap. So basically, your 383 LT1 should smoke a stock LS1. At least the guy i know's would. If i see him again i'll get his specific mods.

i think it would be close.. i agree with penuts cam for your 383 lift could be alot close to .500 at least.. also the stock heads are going to kill you. once you can swap the heads to something that flows even half way better thats prob int the high 11's to low 12's range.

Maybe I'm missing some more information, but how does a torque converter work with a 5 speed? Sounds like a first.

yeah that makes sense. It must be auto then. I don't know though. It's definately not a stock 700R4. It would break before he hit 60' with the power he has. Like i said, i'll try and talk to him again next time i'm in town. He said it's a really big sleeper though.

I have beat a couple LS1's with my 383 stroker and I even have stock heads and a stock TPI intake.

Im thinking that the stall is gonna hurt you bad..for lt1 you need at least a 3000 stall. I agree that cam is a bit small, but its better then stock so. I have stock heads and cam and I can run with a ****ty driver in a ls1..hehe
