im being called out again

well, i guess more and more street racers around my area are hearing about my Vette, cause it seems every couple of weeks now someone new is trying to take me down. this time its a salesman from a Ford dealership who drives a 99' Cobra convertible. im sure its modded, but i have no idea what he has done to it. ive seen the car go 13.7 back in June, and my brother saw him run a 13.5 a month ago. now hes claiming to be able hit 13.1. i asked his friend (whos been setting up the race) why this guy wants to race me so bad, and the reply was "he needs some good competition, and your car is the only one in its league" .... ok, like no one has broken into the 12s here in Delaware. but anyway, the race is on for this Friday at Cecil County Dragway. my best time has been a 13.44 at 102.51 with a 1.94 60ft. this was done with nothing more than minor boltons (airfoil & AFPR) and a catback on street tires (in the heat of June no less!). since then ive added BFGoodrich drag radials, a MAD front ypipe (eliminating the precats) and tuned the car using a scan tool to set optimum FP and such. so how do you guys think ill do? im hoping to break into the 12s with a great launch and some cool air, but it really doesnt matter as long as i beat this guy. oh yeah, ill remember to have gas in the tank this time

i say eat him alive, tho if he works at a dealership he has probably had all the notorious 99 mustang bs fixed. oh well, i think it will be a really close race, but if you guys are right around the exact same 1/4's i think you will have him due to your D.R's. its hard for people with radials to be awesomely consistant everytime out- so your D.R's might win it for you if he gets a bad launch. good luck.

Well, I think it will be a driver's race. Any thing can happen on the street so that a few 1/10ths won't matter.

I'd say you'll probibly take him, as long as he hasn't installed some sort of power adder or anything. my car picked up 2 mph with some minor fuel tuning, and lower temp. I'd say you could take him pretty easily. If I were you, I'd spend the $600 or so to get a lt1 intake, and sell your tpi intake on ebay for almost as much. This should put you into the mid to upper 12's at 105+mph(this is an estimate...actual results may very).
