I was leaving my night class at marshall last night and after the school on a 4 lane road I lined up beside a 95-97TA and a firebird (think it was a v6) anyways I still hadnt completely got up to the light and stopped yet when it turned green...the TA took off and I got on it in first and spun through most of it. (pegleg with 2.73s)

Once I stopped spinning I started to gain alittle I kept at his back fender then POP BLUMP CLUNK FART POP and it stalled....

I was like OH **** I just blew my brand new motor that barely has 450 miles on it...I was thinking damnit I should have waited another 50 miles to get on it.

so i fight the car down another road so it doesnt look like my car messed up and pull over. Car is sounding awful but will start so i pop the hood.

I RAN OUTTA GAS LOL

Don't you just hate that feeling, that gut reaction to a sound from the engine.

I actually got physically sick once when my 406 was a little out of time and I started it and the engine back fired and died, smoke started rolling out from the cowl hood. I threw up I was so worried. But then I tried starting it and it started right up (needless to say I fixed the timing that night )

Later, and Thank G0D that all it was, Garrett

yeah man all high spirits come crashing down when you hear a "bad sound" from under the hood but i always check my oil coolant, and trans fluid at least once a week just to keep sure of everything our 8's can sure as hell take quite a beating, but keeping them in good running condition is what ya aim for
