non third gen.Still street racing.

Last night the slowest race of the centrury went down.I have a 1992 cavalier.I just got it paid off from my dad.My buddy has a 94 escort station wagon. My car has a 2.2 auto and his is a 1.9 stick.

He talks alot of trash.Always has.I didn't want to race because I don't have my car even registered yet.He is getting a new truck saturday so this would be my last chance to shut him up.I told him to meet me on the end of my road in 10 minutes.I went out and warmed my car up.Well there ended up being a cop where we where going to run.So we raced down the straight part of my road at first. It is only about a 300 yard straight and then a corner that goes to my house. We can hit about 70 before we have to slow down.Well I got the jump.I shifted to 2nd to early and when I do it falls on it's face.He beat me by half a car.

So now he is really talking it up.Well I get tired and an hour later he goes and checks for the cop.Which the cop was gone.We bothed pulled out onto the highway.I launched off the brake this time and even got the little thing is bark the tires! It was dead even. The front of the cars where even. The race was straight down a slight hill.A little over a 1/4 mile. When I looked down after we went under the bridge that we shut down at I was at 95mph.

He won again barely but he did win. This was only my 4th time ever driving the car.So I was happy.I just got to shut him up.The little thing is so slow I don't even think I am going to hop it up though.

I don't really care.Just a freindly grudge match.

Also his wagon is moded my car is bone stock.Last summer he got it hot.We had to have the head milled .030.Whenever it was apart I took my die grinder and cleaned the ports in the head as well as around the bowls. Also I matched the intake to the head.Whenever we put it back togother we used different injectors. Also it has a CIA.(I know nothing but whenever the cars are so slow every little bit helps)Plus his car is a stick.Have you ever saw and escort station wagon light em up through 3rd gear?Didn't think so.The little car runs pretty good. And has even taken down a few 305's.

Just because it is a escort wagon don't dog on it.I have worked on that little car alot.

no offense taken. If you would have read more carefully the race is slightly downhill.Which really helps. There is a sign that says an exit is 1/4 mile.We start I would say 150ft in front of that sign. The extra lenght combined with the going downhill combines. That is how I went 95.

I know racing downhill is stupid.Like I said these are slow cars.So we need all the help we can get!

Plus the car is a 92 RS.Not a z-24.They z-24's had the 3.1 v6's.
