Need some info on this car

recently ive been saving up for a complete overhaul on my Beretta.........yeah i know but i like it.......i have a chance to grab a turbo four cylinder for a few hundred dollars...problem is it came out of a 89 Turbo Grand Am...i was wondering if the four banger will make more hp stock for stock than my HO 2.8

A 1989 grand am with 2.0 turbo puts out about 165 hp @5600 rpm's and 175 tq @4000 rpm's i think that a same year barretta has about 130 hp 160 tq

Did they just slap turbo on the engine, or is it an actual turbocharged car?

I guess they did make a Turbo Grand Am that year, for a sec I thought you meant the TGP's. You could pick up the turbo, but make sure you get all the parts for the installation. It would probally be cheaper to drop in a Quad Four than going with a turbo, since Berettas never came with turbos.
