my dumb friend

well, i just sold my 1991 Firebird. My friend has an 89 camaro,5 speed, and he bought this other kids wrecked 89 formula 350 for the motor. The motor is stock, except he wants to put a different cam in it and put it in his camaro. Tonight i am getting a '95 Trans Am. He thinks that his 89 camaro, 350 and 5 speed, will beat me. Don't the 3rd gen 350's only run high 14's or low 15's? My other friend has a 1994 Formula and his ran 14.17 bone stock so i figured mine should run around that time.

it could run high 14's/low 15's, but thats depending on maintenance. most well kept 3rd gen 350s run mid/low 14s, right up there with the lt1's, but lt1's normally take up them up higher. i raced a 94 z28 when i got my formula 350 a week before and even though i spun out really really bad, once i got traction he wasnt pulling any so it could be close depending on maintenance, but if he is gonna use the RS exhaust and manifolds, hes gonna probably choke the engine. either way, you should have him.

the stock 350 tpi auto at least the higher years like 89 and up ran like mid 14s..

adding a 5 speed would make it even faster.. he would give you a good race!
