my good friend has a 87 i think rx7. it has the 13b engine and a 5 speed. its not the turbo motor. we were just talking today and we got to my car somehow and he said we will have to run them after i get my liceness. and if we do it will be a some very secluded backroad to about 60 or 70 mph. my engine is stock but i dont have a cat and they people i bought it from put some type of aftermarket muffler on it. my friends car is all stock with exhast. hes not that great of a driver, today we raced some little honda in it and he missed 2nd but it was an older one that was extremely slow and we beat it anyway lol. well what do u all think?

Non turbos are slow without mods. RX7speed needs to read this. I think it would be a good race due to his 5 speed and lighter weight, I would guess he has about 150 hp?. Maybe he'll miss 2nd again!

when he shifted out of 1st he didnt go all the way down somehow. hes a little mechanicaly/anything about cars inclined. but hes not mouthy about his car at least. but my friend with a 91 prelude base model thats completly stock exect new rims and tires is another story. at least some of my friends are cool tho, one is restoring a 70 challenger, and his dad just bought a 73 cuda cause they werent gonna have the challenger done before my friends birthday(his dad had been wanting one anyway) and my other friend with a 84 camaro sc, and another has a 64 nova with a 400 sbc in it:hail: :hail:

Wasn't RX7speed running high 14s without a turbo? I think he might take you.

my friend has 90 RX7 non turbo and I raced him in my 305 and 5 speed. I smoked his car off the line 'till I reached about 55 miles
he passed me and smoked the sh**t out of me car, but keep in your mind I had burned valve and my forth gear was out and my car was bone stock and was really slow so I think you at least keep up with'em

good luck

hehe

ok I am really starting to doubt the 14's I ran with the N/A

I either must have screwed something up with the g-tech or I was running at an angle

mid 15's I can believe (friend of mine before he went turbo was rnning the same with about the same mods) but lower then that I am even doubting now... my fault my mistake iwth the g-tech Ithink

as far as the race

stock vs stock with decent drivers for each... rx7 I would say gets the nod

I have raced my friend who has a 91 RS and he is a decent driver and everytime I get him except for the launch sometimes.. IRS is a pain in the ****..

best TRACK TIME I have ran is a 16.4 at 86mph

that is with a ****ty 2.4x 60' time and I was spinning all through first gear. was dumping at about 5500rpms.also I missed my shift into third gear

found out slipping from about 3300rpms is about the best so far anymore

ran g-tech after my tracktimes and it showed the same numbers as the track

since then changed the intake pipe, worked on my launching , and can now hit 3rd gear... new tranny and somewhat better shift bushings... and hit a 16.01 on the g-tech

just waiting to take it to the track

anything else I would be willing to help you with

thanks for the info everyone. id say we will prolly race just to see what happens and not have bets going. my friend accualy bought the cuda from pennsylvaina accully. it should be here tommarow i think. if i remeber right it has a 318 and is green. he showed me some pics. white leather interior. pretty slick car. it was a auto so im gonna guess it has a tourque flight tranny.

just wanted to add when I was running the low times on the g-tech I had a few more mods then I have now

money gets tight I had to sell a few things from the car

things I am missing is the intake manifold that was ported plus if I remember right I was using my friends ECU that has a chip in there.

I am with Curt on this one, how the f*ck do you miss second? I would say he is a bad driver not a decent one. Maybe he will do that when you guys run. Haha, miss 2nd, that is funny

Ran my friends' RX-7 (the blue convert in the pic), had him by half a car top of 2nd/into third, but I'm sure he would of had me if we didn't have a corner to make...him stock, me exhaust/CAI/ etc., him a 5spd non-turbo, me auto. He'll beat you.

oops, 2.8 here, by the way.

..and I see now there's no 'add image' button. Damn that.
