just wondering how you can calculate the top speed of a car. I was also wondering what my car would top out at.

1988 TA 305, TPI, 700R4, 2.73 gears, aluminum driveshaft, K&N, ported plenum, msd wires, tune-up. they are very minor mods, but i was just wondering what you guys think.

orange lines at 4500, and red lines at 5000, and i think it has 225/60/15 tires.

www.smokemup.com has equations for that. They are helpful and you have all the info posted but tire diameter. Find that out and you are set. Should be pretty good too.

they have it here on tgo too...just go to the equations link at the beginning. redlining, you probably would hit around 140.

That is the theoretical top speed assuming you have enough power to go that fast. There is really no way of knowing your true top speed unless you test it out.

 

Yeh hes right i got a 305 but its a tbi and i topped out at 115 so im sayin u around 130

 

You topped out at 115? Thats seems kind of low, but who knows. Ive hit the speed limiter at 112 in my 92 rs a few times and it had a lot more in her than that it felt like. I wouldnt know though because of the damn speed limiter

 

i have hit 122 in my car but i ran our of road, i still had pedal left. i was doing 2500 at 105 mph after that i didnt look down again.

are there speed limiters on TPI cars?
