C5 vette vs. supercharged 84 T/A
Okay, how would this setup fare against a c-5, and what kind of times do you think it would run:
1984 Trans Am
8.5:1 compression 350 w/ 487 casting heads, 1.94/1.50 valves (may upgrade later)
Weiand 142 (or 177) supercharger with quadrajet, DR/B combo, running around 6 lbs of boost.
Comp Cams XE262 or similar 5500 rpm power peak blower cam
3.23 posi rear
700R4 with trans go shift kit
hedman shorty headers, no cat, hooker cat back.
Its basically my setup now with a blower on top. Im curious if Id be able to touch a C-5 with that. I figure it'd put me at around 13 flat. I would run that on the motor until it blows, then rebuild it as a 383 with forged slugs and crank the boost to about 8-10 lbs. Then thered be little doubt I could take it out. Car right now is probably mid 14's without the blower.

Engine: 350 Roller Motor
Transmission: Level 10 700R4
Axle/Gears: Strange 12 bolt 3.42
A well matched 350 without a blower should be able to produce 350-400hp, enough to easily run with a C5 Vette. A blower and/or nitrous would only make it faster (500hp+).
I know the procharger is better, but the price is substantially higher and I have a carbed setup on my car. The money I save on the weiand could be used to rebuild the motor or the transmission.
