Focus RS- Heads Up + Anyone raced one yet?

I was wondering if anyone has raced one of these with their thirdgen, and wanted to give you guys a heads-up on their specs.

These figures are from the official press release issued by Ford on 6th August 2002.
Official Ford Performance Figures:
0-60mph in 6.4secs.
0-100mph in 15.5secs.
100-0mph in 4.1secs.
Top speed of 144mph.

EVO Magazine Performance Figures:
(Road tested at Millbrook Proving Ground in September 2002)
0-30mph in 2.5secs.
0-60mph in 5.9secs.
0-100mph in 14.9secs.
0-130mph in 32.6secs.

1/4 mile in 14.6secs/99mph.

Specifications:
Duratec RS 2.0-litre engine, 4-cyl w. forged pistons + rods, advanced turbo-charging system with 65 per cent more power than standard n/a 2.0L Zetec, 1-bar maximum boost, water-cooled intercooler.
Quaife torque-biasing differential for optimal front-wheel-drive tractability.

Power Figures:-
2.0-litre: 215PS (~212 bhp) @ 5,500rpm / 310Nm (~229lb ft) @ 3,500rpm

Production limited to 30 units per day in Ford's Saarlouis Plant, Germany, with volume production starting
mid-September 2002. 4500 in total for the whole of Europe, not sure if there is an equivalent model Stateside, or if they're gonna release one - prob. not.

MK25 Bosch ABS Braking system:- Front : Brembo 4-pot, twin-opposed piston callipers and 325 mm ventilated discs. Rear : two pot callipers and 280 mm solid discs

A couple of pics for you:-

I would attached a pdf of the power and torque graphs for the standard car and following an aftermarket chip installation. Not a valid file extension though. If anyone wants to see it they could PM me.

Raced 2 already! Both cars I raced from a light, my superior traction & torque shot me out 2-3 car lengths, it was so bad by 65 I shut down.

From a roll....it'd be a close close close call.

The Rs was only released int the uk, the us hasn't gotten it yet, and probably won't. Sorry to burst any bubbles. Would be nice to see one here though, especially if they went to AWD.

They are not likely to release that here. They never release the more powerfull semi-cool cars like that over here.

I wouldn't worry about racing one of those anyway. FOR *** SAKE IT'S AN UGLY *** FOCUS.

Even if it could outrun me it's still an ugly piece of crap with a recal list the length of my arm.

Jokerman, as stated above there are 4500 in total for the whole of Europe, not just the UK.

especially if they went to AWD.
Look out for the Focus AWD Cosworth with ~300bhp next year then.

Not quite... Braking, suspension, the differential etc are rather different.

BTW I agree that it is ugly; especially the interior and the lack of colours - You can only get it in that Ford Blue!!

Just wanted to give you guys some info, as no doubt there'll be lots of people modifying their SVT's etc and perhaps getting similar performance figures.

Probably doesn't help that everyone seems to take the badges off their cars here.

I'm going to have to take my digital camera out with me at night, so I can take some snapshots of some of the cars around here. Especially everyone with their riced out Golf's.

One of the kids with a ugly Focus has it in the 14's, I'm not quite sure what he's done to it, but you can hear the intake from like a mile away.

:hail: cosworth

Am i the only one person who has seen Getaway in Stockholm 2?

The cosworth escort had no problems keeping up with a built TT supra, and as for the stockholm police i don' t think they could catch any "fast" production car but it was fun to watch anyway.
