I was down at our gathering place, just shootin the **** with some friends when I hear and then see a black L98 C4 vette pull in to the parking lot. It had what looked like a Greenwood ground effects kit on it, sounded like a pretty mean cam, and who knows what else. Also there was a purple C4 that I believe was an LT1, I never actually saw his tailights, but anyway. A friend of mine with an LS1 camaro with only exhaust and a 100 shot of nitrous says he's going to race the black vette.
I start walking to my car as soon as I hear that because I was itching for a race, but as I pull out on the road behind my friend I see about 8 other cars behind us going to watch. We make it out to the race spot, I'm behind Joel, the guy in the camaro, the purple vette is beside me and behind the black one. Apparently the guy in the black vette had never raced before or something, they were both stalled up but someone didn't launch right and they went from a slow roll, with Joel spraying. Joel puts about 5 lengths on this guy in no time flat. I'm side by side with the purple vette through 1st and 2nd gears, but as soon as I hit 3rd gear, I immediately pull past him, quickly gaining on and passing the black vette, who was about 2 lengths ahead, by the time I round out 4th. I'm sure he had already backed off though so I don't really consider that race a kill, I know the purple vette was having to slow down since he was behind the black one, but anyway.
They go a little farther down the highway and decide to go from about a 60 roll. The cars were still lined up like before, and I drop it into 3rd to wait for the punch. Somehow I hit it at exactly the same time as joel and the vette and I stay 1 length behind joel as we both pull on the black and purple vette, then as the distance grows, I move over to the other lane to pass Joel but he backed off before I could close the gap. Altogether though, I was impressed. Joel didn't spray the second time obviously, but those vette's were nothing to worry about. Maybe it should have been me racing Joel but oh well. Still a fun night

thats awesome man. They spent all the money on those cars. I would be pretty embarrased. But good job.
