Well let me just throw in my two cents here real quick. The fastest B series honda motor I saw around here was a CRX with a highly modified B20 in it. He ran a 12.8. Now, if you want to squeeze an H series motor into one you'll have more potential. Currently the import shop around here is putting one into that CRX and hopes to run low 12's and this is with a modified H22. Now, to hit 10's N/A you would need around 500hp and a lightened car. Now that's over 2hp/liter. That's really really good, just imagine if we could do that with our 5.0 and 5.7's. But anyways not even many boosted hondas run 11's. In fact I think 13's are more in order unless they build up their engine first, which many Honda owners don't seem to do for some reason. Anyways, your Z28 sounds like it should walk on the Honda. *** why do you people think building an import cost so much money? i have several friends running 12s or lower in civics and they dont have much money put in em...a guy i use to work with installed a turbo kit on his stock civic(not gutted, full interior), a 125 shot of nitrous, and he runs 12.2 on his street tires..after his motor build he will be running 10s..and no it wont cost him 10 grand or some outrageous figure to build it

hrm true...i have another friend, with a hatchback civic with some of it gutted..he is about to put some motor in his car(cost like 6 grand) but he said it will allow him low - mid 11s with street tires no nitrous no turbo..i dont believe him much..but he knows his imports and he knows many people locally with the same setup

mid 11s on street tires all motor. did he strip his car down to 1000 lbs with him driving? not possible with an all motor FWD car to run that fast on street tires, it'd never hook... that's basically what your average all motor honda dragster is running, 11s...

well, the hatch back civics only weigh about 2050 lbs..and he had some weight taken out(back seat, spare and a few other minor things) so he is probably less than 2000 lbs(not including him) the motor he is talking about is like 190 hp. ...o and the guy who owns the turbo civic ..said if i gave him 10 grand, he could have me a civic running high tens low 11s; and that includes the car

civic hatch is closer to 2400 lbs, del sol is 2200 lbs and a CRX is 1800-2000 lbs. There is a guy who says he can get a 305 running in the 11s all motor with stock runners (LOL) around here, but it's pipe dreams, just like a cheap, reliable, and sub 13 second honda. very very very rare, now before you say "there are lots of them around here" ask yourself, how reliable is it, and then how fast is it really, and then after asking yourself that, ask yourself how much it costs. there are so many more things you need to take into consideration when you are building a FWD car, suspension upgrades, traction control parts, etc. all add up, and clock in at a very hefty sum. I've already said it before, the world record holding all motor 4 cyl is a race only civic that runs a 10.36 and cost over 100K to build, imports will always be more expensive to build than a domestic in this country. case in point, take an LS1, bolt on a bit under 2 grand in motor and traction mods, you'll be running high 11s, done all the time. that's roughly the cost of a basic turbo kit for a honda, and you'll be boosting 5-7 psi max if you want any kind of reliability, even then its sketch, you'll only run in the 14s if even that depending on the motor you're starting with, and you'll be breaking lots of parts on the car because they simply aren't meant to handle more than say 210 HP stock for most models lol. the import thing is a phase, I've had plenty of friends go through it, they start off with a 3rd gen or a 5.0, build it into the 12s, then a few speeding tickets later they want something with cheaper insurance and ****, so they read about imports, they get one, build it, turbo it, the whole 9 yards, run a high 13 and never "get it running right", breaking lots of **** on the car, finally get tired of the headaches want something more reliable, and are now 25+ years old so they went out and bought an LS1 and are running faster times than they ever have reliably and cheaply.

i am by no means at all an import lover(i love my camaro just fine ) i dont know to many imports cept some my friends drive..the friend with the 12 second civic i have seen him race it..and i know all he has is a turbo kit..but then again he knows hondas pretty well; he is a certified honda mechanic...i dont doubt that a v8 will smash a 4 banger anyday..i just know(from my friends) that it doesnt cost 20 grand to make a 12 second import

civics and car like em aren't ****in sports cars...most of the "fast" ones have gutted interiors and really aren't your typical street driven cars....when will they learn? Hell even if they wanted to stay imports at least get a REAL fuggin import or move over to our side...

i was just gunna race then post, i have not posted yet because we did not race yet, if anyone has seen i have been posting like mad and hunting like mad because my holley carb is going crazy, i am hopeing i can get it fixed tomorrow with the new info people have been giveing me. but if i cant fix it i am gunna have it looked at on wednesday. but trust me we will race. hes around here still talking $hit saying i am afraid to race him and bla bla bla. i got the bet set though 100$ pluse next people are also betting on the race. i cant wate, all i no it no matter what it will happen by friday if i have to i am just gunna buy a new carb (the carb rebuilders want 245$ just to rebuild

For that amount of cash to rebuild, I would just go get a new one and be done with it. Holey's are known to be finiky at times. Great carb when set right.

I had one on my 78 firebird and had nothing but problems, always had to adjust it with any weathure change, I eventualy gave up and grab'd a Carter that was on sale and never had a problem. That carb was still working great the day i sold the car.

And, nobody could complain about grip, start, finish, or anything like that. The looser will usualy try to weasle his way out of the money with complaints like this. I'd hit a drag strip if I were you. (and get the times on video!)

If the car you're racing is red, and has a black hood (unless he got it painted), then I would be careful. 350 or no 350.

UPDATE! car is all fixed. well except for the flex plate but i am gunna use the money i win off this dude to get me a new one lol. anyway the race is on tomorrow at 10:30pm the bet is now 150$

we finaly raced!!!!!!
anyway we all met a coffie time were everyone chills before reaching the clubs, so there was alot of people there. when i got there i can see him and his car with the hood up and like 6 people around it checken it out. as soon as i pulled in everyone turned because the sound of my car and most people have not seen my car. so i park and everyone starts to walk up to me saying how my car sounds like a beast (it does sound amazing though) and pop the hood to check it out. so i tell everyone what she has in her and by now almost every one is saying i am going to kill him and i just said i dont no that a 10 sec car and just laphed. his x is telling all the girls how my car is so fast and how it feels 10 times more faster then her x. (oh and shes in no why fat, she is sexy as hell!) anyway i walk up to the guy and ask to show the money and what does he have.. only a 50$> his bank gots his money on lock, or so he says. anyway i'm like fine lets do this, so we pass the money to james and off we go to the spot with like 5 cars behind us. we get there and line up and wate for the car at the finish to give the signal he is positioned, then we wate for the hand drop. hes doing nothing but revving his car to $hit, by now i am getting really nervus since i dont have much practice on launching and what if his car is really 10sec i have no clue what mine is. so anyway i bring up the rpm, and then the hands drop. we both spun i spund more along with my car pulling to one side from the back, he got traction and i was still spinnin but he stayed up to my door. as soon as i got tracking i just pulled like crazy looking out the mirror it looked like he was not moveing. i beat him by around 6 cars the end guy said. when we got back to the group i got out with his x's arm wraped around mine heading for james to collect my $, the honda dude comes rushing up to me saying how i am spraying and ****. i told him to f ^&% off and go look for your self. so i collect my money and spark a smoke and chat with some people about my car and what i no it has so far, about 15 min later he comes back telling christine he wants to talk to her, she like no and she asks me if we could go. so i say later and we leave. so now i am back at my house with christine getting ready to spark a spliff and watch a movie. today has been the best day i have had in a long time it was great. i knew he was bull****tin! i just cant wate to get some times on this car and a dino. sry for being so long people but i still have a smile on face and i just had to tell it all. oh and a guy got it on film i will get it on the net as soon as he gets it on his computer.
