Hey I was just wandering who you think would win this race , I have a friend who wants to run me in his 79 z28.He has a 350(keep in mind that in 79 the 350 had 180hp)with headers, cowl induction,a holley 670 street avenger carb, and 3.42 rear gear.All I have is a full roller 350 tbi,with edelbrocke headers into straight glasspacks,no emissions equipment ,nothing but the two front seats interior wise,a 3.08 ring and pinion,and 275X60 cooper cobra tires out back.He is pretty cocky about it but the stock 79 z runs high 15's, and he still has the stock exhaust except for the headers and its not true duel.I think it may be close, I just dont know.

it has a sbc 350 edelbrock performancer manifold, headers and holley 650 dould pumper flex fan open air cleaner and a th350 tranny soon to be rebuilt with shift kit and higher stall convter and 3:23.1 gears in the rear soon to have a sbc 355 with 408hp with a 4spd muncie and fiberglass hood doors and fenders and maybe 411 gears

Is the 79 stick or automatic? If it's stick, he has 3.73 gears, otherwise he has 3.42's. You made a small error though, 79 Z's had 175 HP not 180.I think you might win, but second gens can be very fast with a bit of work.

Its an automatic , but he put the 3.73s in himself so I know hes got them.Yeah I was just guessing on the 180 hp , I knew it was around there.
