Ok, I own both the cars but have never taken them to the track. The 67 is .030 over (406cid now) with 4speed and 3.23's in the back. The 88 Formy 350 is stock(just got it 4 days ago) It feels strong but not like the 67. So time wise and track wise, how bad would the 88 lose in a heads up race? Does it ever stand a chance, even with mods to beat it's brothern?

if the formy is stock tpi then you will probably get high 14's. the 400 is probably alot quicker than that. if i saw them racing i would bet on the 400 it would probably run mid to low 12's if all thats done to it is the bore(wich is probably not the case).

i dont know about that especially if its just bored over i have a few pontiac 400's out in the garage and these were some strong running engines a couple years back when i had them in a 67 lemans and they were no slouch pushing that car into 13's but even though the lemans tips the scales a few hundred pounds higher then a firebird theres no way that a stock 400 just bored over will push a 67 fbird into the mid to low 12s. however if it is modified
its a different story.
