T/A vs. T/A
well it's been quite a while since i've last posted on thirdgen.org and since then i've sold my 89 camaro rs and bought a 95 trans am. the t/a has some things done to it such as after market ram air hood and ram air intake (they didnt start the ws6 package again until 96), hooker st headers, hooker catback, slp stage 1 suspension, underdrive pullies, and a stage 2 clutch. so the other night i was out looking for something to do, so i pulled into a gas station to call a friend and see what he was doing and while doing this a very beautiful looking 3rd gen t/a sees me and pulls in and comes up to me and asks what engine i have. so i tell him that it's a 350 lt1 and he asks me if i wanna run him, so of course me not being one to pass up the chance to race, say yes. he smirks and says "you know your gonna kill me right" so i ask why that is, and his reply is that he has a 305. so anyways we go and look for a light and hit one. light goes green he hits it and squeels alittle, and i ease out the clutch and just punch it. i pulled out maybe a car by the end of first, slam it into second a spin second thanks to pretty bald tires. we shut it down at about 60ish and i had probably about 3-4 lengths on him. after this we went a few more times with the same results. after this i asked him if he had anything done to it and he said that it was all original parts with the original tires on it... i think he said it had 17k on the car. it was a beautiful red 87 t/a. i asked him if it was tpi and it was along with the good ol' 700-r4... not a very fast car but it was in show room condition. it was a good night, if ur on here, nice *** car man
