86 IROC vs. 92 RS vs. 88 GTA
Okay, at work I own the only Pontiac F-body. An older guy drives his RS to work, low mileage, good deal, I think it's the 25th aniversary edition...? A new guy at work has an IROC, looks nice 'cept for the mismatched hood and promered front fenders, might have been in a wreck. Assumming all cars being stock, which would be the better handling car? How about for 1/4 mile times? The RS got the LO3 in it, mine's got the L98, not sure what the IROC has... Gotta talk to the guy 'bout it, looks like he takes care of it.

assuming all are stock you have the LO3 easy, the iroc i believe could have a 305 TPI or a 350 TPI which would put him right there with you...it would come down to who has the better tuned motor and of course the driver

If the Iroc is a TPI/manual, your GTA should edge him out. The RS in stock, well maintianed form will not challenge either the Iroc, or your GTA.
86 Irocs could not have the 350, so its either a 305/auto, or 305/manual. In 86, GM put the peanut cam in the 305/auto's. Making them poor performers compared to the 305/manual combos.

I managed to talk to the IROC owner (how in the world did I mistake it for an '86... it DOESN'T have the bubble CHMSL...) and it's an '89, wth the LO3 in it, T5 swap, Flowmasters and gutted cat, aftermarket chip and I think that's it. He ran it before with the 700R4 and it ran 15.5 or so. He also has a fiberglass hood, something I really would love to have, as GTA's are stinking HEAVY. He says it's a work-in-progress, but he seems pretty cool. He got it because his Monte Carlo was too heavy and slow, even after all the work he dropped in it. (like, 2000 dollars worth) I asked if he belonged here on the boards, he said no, so I mentioned it to him. He said that the T5 swap kicked his butt, still doesn't have his speedometer hooked up.

as for handling you will take both. pontiac decide it wanted a more of a sports car so they put a little bit bigger anti sway bar in it only bigger by like 1-2 mm but it makes a difference.
