A true "kill" story!
A true "kill story"
It was a nice friday night, around 2:00AM. A black camaro pulls up to the light next to one of those WRX's. The light goes green, and both cars take off. They pass 2 intersections at speeds up to 70mph, before slowing and stopping at a red light. The Camaro won by about 2 car lengths.
The light went green, both cars took off, and were immediately pulled over by multiple units. Both drivers were arrested for driving to endanger, and the cars were impounded.
Think twice before being stupid on the street. Going twice the speed limit, driving to endanger, to make a "kill" is not worth; jail, loss of license, impounding (and damage in doing so) to your vehicle, and the increase in your insurance. Most of all, if you hit and kill someone, its first degree motor vehicle homicide.
I've responded to enough accidents, totalled vehicles, deaths, etc. Be safe, have fun, and use your heads.
C-ya at the race track!

While your concern for the welfare of the members of this board is appreciated I do not feel it is within the scope of this board to discuss the morality or lack thereof of street racing. By taking part in such a race the risks should be readily apparant to all participants. Making an attempt to discourage them from an act acknowledged as dangerous is more or less similar to trying to dissuade any other "thrill seeker," usually a waste of time.
Although the dangers of street racing are undeniable, if done in a safe manner away from busy, or even populated, streets it can minimize risk to others and it sounds like these clowns you arrested the other day were violating that rule. They took the risk and they got burned. That's the way it goes.
Perhaps some day every city will have a track within 50-100 miles, unfortunately most do not, or charge $25 for 2 runs at test and tune.
