An interesting mid winter race...

Well i went home for a week and got lucky with the weather last friday (almost 70 for the high and nice low 60's high 50's that night). Anyway a few friends and i decided to hit the local cruise spot for a bit. After hanging around for a bit we hit it a few times before we called it. Now for the cars.

Gary: 02 Dakota RT regular cab, shortbed. Some sort of catback (don't remember, sounds good though) Nice truck runs a good high 14 or so.

Matt: Clifford 02 or so GM pickup. Previously owned by a muckety muck at Crane cams, had linginfelter build him a C5 killing truck. 5.3, lots of internals, nice little blower, full locker rear end, built (vette auto basically). Runs a nice low 12 on pump gas and street tires.

Well i am behind matt and gary at a light and of course they are getting ready to go. I end up plopping it in drive and getting ready to run just so i can have some chance of seeing how it goes. Of course some idiot in an altima (like a 98 or so) decides he wants to run me. Here goes green. They roll a bit (neither has traction, Matt still breaks loose at 60mph) then go, i go, and then so does the idiot next to me. So, as matt spanks the **** out of gary (fun to watch and great exaust to listen to), i end up wailing on the altima with out really intending to because i wanted to beable to see the fun. Nice night to run and considering its gonna be awhile before i get back, not a bad way to go out.

Only about 22k. Now how he managed that i don't know. He works at a local chevy dealership as a mechanic so that probably helped. Oh ya, he scrounged a set of the 20's from the new SS and ploped em on, he can actually hook, except when he turns the fenders dig into the tires because of the 2,4 drop.

time to tell him to notch out his fenders....

my S10 has a 5/6 drop with no rubbing, he should be able to EASILY get the 20s to fit with no rubbing whatsoever....
