stock 85 Camaro vs. stock 91 Supra Turbo
Stupid question, but who would win? And by how much? I've been wanting to buy a Supra for a long time (dont kill me for saying that) and i just wanna know if it would kick my camaro's *** or not.
Thanks!

Even the non turbo one should hang. You have to watch out for the turbo ones only. They are sick. The NA are not much of a threat.

Is it a twin turbo?? Just wondering?? I saw a stock twin turbo with just cold air intake running constant mid to high 12's at my local track, it would definitely take the LG4, though.
3rd gen Supra with a single turbo is decently quick stock, mid 15s, get nice improvements with mods. I think the only problem with them is that they have a ****ty stock gasket and should be replaced with an upgraded one if you buy a Supra.
4th gen Supra, wont go there. Expensive as hell in the US, TT are monsters from a roll. At the track they are dyno queens. I think that the fastest street legal one is in the 9ish 10ish region. Amazingly strong engine stock, can hold 900+ RWHP on stock internals. I have never heard of a Supra with only a cai running mid 12s. There was a Supra in my area that had 600 or so crank hp and he ran high 11s I think. Supra's are dyno queens, and highway monsters, they are horrible at the 1/4 because of their axle.

I don't think the 3rds come with twin turbos, but i dont know... I look all the time on ebay and they are only single turbo.
Someone said mid 15s for the supra, whats a stock lg4 camaro run?

I saw a 3rd gen single turbo one with just an upgraded exhaust from the turbo back run a 14.5 so I would definetly think it would kill a low 16 sec Lg4 car.

Right on the money. and no there is no 3rd gen TT, only single turbo. definately get the turbo'd version though.
well you never know until you do it actually now look at it this way when does there turbo acutally spoll and are you draggin or what?
if you are doing some wierd *** **** like going arround corners then having a little stirght away then turning agin the camaro probally will due to having more physical hp
now in a drag if his turbo is set for like 6grand then he could still lose cause everytime he shifts he will drop to arround 3.5-4.5 grand and his turbo would be usless really untill it hits spolling point.
so it really all deppends it also deppends on what the camaro has in it.
kindof like my fathers 67 chevel SS pushin 500 hp he can take on a supra np but then agin he has what it takes not only lets say you are racing at NOPI then you could technically beat a supra with a little Geo Metro due to bracket racing just let him brakeout and make sure you dont and you could beat him with a finish time of 40 seconds
thats the one thing i hate about bracket racing.
i say it should be hey how much hp you got? then if you think you can beat him go for it see who has better skills.
back in the 70's it was like that then it turned into racing checkbooks.

There was an invention awhile ago called the period. Very helpful in written communication.
Anyways, 4th gen Supras are notorious dyno queens. They can bust big numbers on the dyno but they dont run the same numbers at the track. A 3rd gen Camaro and 4th gen Supra putting out the same hp, the Camaro(granted it can hold the power) will bust off better times. I wouldnt want to meet a TT(or converted to a single turbo) Supra on the highway though, they are beast from a roll.

What do you mean "if his turbo is set at 6 grand"?

depending on the size of your turbo makes the turbo actually spoll at tiffernt RPM's alot of the supras arround here that i have notice use a differnt turbo then the stock one and the spoll arround 5-6 grand or 5000 - 6000 rpm

Thanks for the crash course on turbo's since I didn't know(I only have a turbo car lol).
Also it's SPOOL!
sorry but a turbo of any size that doesn't spool BEFORE 6K(I assume you actually know what the word means) isn't working properly. Maybe it won't hit FULL BOOST(depending on what the wastegate is set at) but it's spooling much, much lower than that.
