Me VS. Dodge Ram Hemi
Ok here is how it went down. I am cruising a two lane road when I see him coming up close in my mirror. I am coming up to a slow moving car so I pull out to pass when I realize he pulled out too. I have the gas buried and He is not gaining on me at all , so I test him to see if he wants to play. I keep her wide open till about 100 and he is not gaining but we are about even. He pulls into the oncoming lane to pass me and I gun it. He again does no gain any ground and has to pull back behind me. By this time we are near the ramp to get on the interstate so I figure one more run. I slow to about 5 mph and make the turn on the ramp and gun it. He begins to fade but we seem to be about even. Then all of a sudden I realize he is realing me in. I glance at my tach and see I am close to 5900 in third and she won't shift to forth from third being wide open. I let off to 3/4 and feel her shift to forth and I stomp it. He begins to fade a little but we are still about neck and neck. And yes it was a Hemi because we were side by side on the interstate and I saw the badge. Believe it or not but a little 305 held her own with a hemi. Trust me he wanted to blow passed me but He couldn't compare with the massive lo3!!!!!!HAHA

Very nice you have a small 5.0 he had a 4800lb truck. It offsets each other. I raced my friends Hemi. Stock they are not too bad. We added a Ravin muffler, K&N filter with deleted silencer and are waiting for a programmer to come out. Those things are monsters. Too bad its in a heavy truck intesd of a little car. I still love those damn trucks.

I thought the kickdown valve would not allow you to shift into overdrive at WOT????? So you let off....it shifted to OD and then you nailed it and it stayed in fourth???? hmmmmmmm
Good run anyways!!

I have the Raptor rebuild kit on my 700R4 and i am guessing he might have something along the lines that I have. At WOT the car shifts into 4th on it's own.....Must be something in the rebuild kit that allows it to do this. I see he has a B&M shift kit. THat probably has the 3/4 throttle valve in it......

I have had the transgo Shift kit and the B&M and they both shift into OD while at WOT. My stock tranny would do it too. Oddly enough pretty much a lot of the time it would.

It happens all the time
If I am wide open it will not shift out of third. If you back off to 3/4 it will shift to forth and if you nail it again it will stay in forth all the way .
