me vs my friends 99 ls1

i was surprised by this. i was able to keep ahead for the first half but in the last 1/8 he was pulling away. i thought he would had pulled ahead straight from the start. my time was 15.5 his was 14.5. his mods were y pipe and cat back exhaust and a k&n filter. it was fun but i think that with alittle more $$ i may be able to give him alittle more to sweat about. we are going to run again next month. he's going to do all the free mods and a air lid. that will suck for me but o well

Was he spinning pretty bad and/or granny shifting. That time seems a little slow. Anyhow with some mods and traction, you will give decently driven LS1 a good run in the 1/8.

Your friend cannot drive. With those mods he should murder you from every point on the track. He should be running 13 flat to mid 13's.

14.5 in a 1999 Camaro SS with the LS1

That's a poor, VERY poor time for a stock LS1.......Even worse for an LS1 that has a few bolt-ons....Tell your friend he needs to work on his lauches

Don't let that discourage you, throw some money at that engine and you can get into the low 13's-12's with some nice heads/cam and bolt-ons...

LS1s are high end, but if your budies ss has a 6-speed he should be in the 12's and 13 flat with an auto
