1 win 1 loss

Last night I raced a late 90's trans am and a carolla
The Trans am was the youth pastor at my church its an LS1 with quite a few bolt ons we went from a roll at about 40 needless to say he beat me pretty bad considering my 305 is crap on the top end (yeah bone stock except for exaust but who really has stock exhaust?) but yeah he beat me so I fell back a little and floore it and kicked in front of him yeah im quite sure he wasnt going very hard

The second was a guy from my church he got beside me on the way home and rolled his window down and said lets race HA HA stock carolla oh yeah I had 4 other people in the car with me on the second race only 3 on the first but yeah he hung with me for a second and then I left him that was fun.

FORGIVE MY PUNCTUATION

I have stock exhaust. At least now you know where you stand though. Faster than a Corolla, but slower than an LS1. Good runs.

hmmm lets see the only thing that makes my exhaust non stock is the lack of a cat and a aftermarket muffler

sometime in the future im going to be able to take more people when I get my new engine I was thinking LS1 but now that Ive seen so many of them floating around Im thinking more TPI 350 any suggestions on this?

what kind of budget are you planning this with? An LS1 would be a great because just a few bolt ons and you're in the 12's, a tpi will get you great torque as long as you get a better drivetrain to support it depending on how much you're putting out on the dyno. Or, a great budget build would be a 350 carb because i know there's some good deals out there for vortec heads, edelbrock baseplates, comp cams, etc. If you street race or want an engine for daily driving, the fuel injections would be your way for reliability more, and if you're street racing a daily driver then I'd say an LS1 or LT1, or any short runner, higher lift cammed, higher rpm hp output engine would be good for those highway rolls, assuming you are not putting anyone else really in danger but yourself. just my opinion, I'm sure someone else can do much better.

Hey thanks man

Yeah I was looking at the stats on the stock engines and I like the TPI's power at the low end umm heres the stats if you have more accurate ones than these feel free to put them up

TPI- 245HP@4400 345FT.LBS.@3200

LS1-320HP@5800 330FT.LBS.@4400

My budget is take it where I can get it

From what I've read, the TPI starts to get restrictive up around 450 hp and it shows on the dyno curves. Around 5500 or so the TPI starts to "hit a wall", but it does make substantial amounts of torque that should take alot of LS1 powered cars off the line. But, there are aftermarket runners that are shorter length and they can be ported to generate more power and still good amouts of torque, similar to an LT1 induction design. As far as budget, finding a good deal on vortec heads and maybe using an aftermarket TPI design can get you decent numbers, and good 60 foot times with Drag radials.
