First official race in my new ride.

Last night I was driving home from a friends when an Eagle Talon TSI pulled up next to me, sounded pretty stock until the ligth turned green, he launch so hard of the light it took me by surpise and the sound from the blow-off valve whe he shifted was like an explosion! I wasn't going to try and play cacth up then but the up coming light was red..

I get up to the light just in time to hea his passanger say "you wan to race my homie?" I said hell yes, light turned green and we go, We both got an even luanch off of the line and ran even all through 1st, I was manually shifting the auto and when I tried to shift into second I was so nervous I missed second and poped it into D "****!" I said to myself since the car can rev higher than it shifts but I couldn't do anything about it now. We kept trading the lead with his monster blow off in my ear the whole time all the way to mid of 4th "well past the 1/4 mile" & it turned into a top speed race of course he slowly started passing me. After the race I found out he was running 31psi of boost & runs 13.8's in the 1/4 mile.

It was a very worth while race even if I lost because now I have a very close idea to what I run in the 1/4 mile. & the next time I race him I will have my real cam installed . The one I currently have is very mild compared to what will be in the car.

Expect a part 2 to this story in time.

31psi and 13.8? That seems like an awful lot of boost for that time. But I am not familiar with those cars (seen em, but thats all). Is that a normal setup?

it was either 31 or 21 psi looked like he threw 3 fingers up then 1 = 31

And no that car is far from stock, he is second fastest in the local DSM car club. Found that out today because my friend knows him.

I guy at the track a couple weeks ago ran 13.2 with 25 lbs of boost on TSI talon and alot of other goodies. It still needed tuned though and may hit twelves. I don't know about that guy with his TSI but should be faster than 13.8.

He must have been running 21lbs. of boost then. But the race was legit & fair.

It could've needed tuning but I once raced a guy in an eclipse with an in-gen turbo putting out 30 lbs. of boost and I beat him in my 14 second car, he obviously needed tuning also.

Sounds like a good race Sounds like he had the FWD TSI which are great cars up top. Throw in your cam and have some more fun. Sounds like you are pretty close right now so the cam should bring him down. Unless of course he starts adding more mods as well

used to have a stick in my old IROC, could care less about not having none now but a T-56 swap would be nice.
