Turbo....supercharged?.....You better have a big-***.....uuu.uuuuhmmm....lemme say a REALLY "BIG ***" unit for that dick-puny 2.4. I'm not a believer. I've seen quite a few and you'd be lucky to squeeze out over 220 pony's on a nicely modded 2.4 unit, hardly any game for an LS1, at least up top.

if his times are correct he did pull a decent ET for just a "whimpy litle jbody"
better then most any stock thirdgen goes

Yeah but come on rx7speed, I know you're not biases or anything but once again, the cockiness of this guy is just too much for a high 13 second car, don't you think? If I ran a high 13 and beat an ls1 like that just by the reaction times, I would say something to the manner of; " I got a good light, but you should of won because your engine in alot more efficient than my lil' 305." I just don't think bragging about that makes him any cooler than before he won the race, but hey what do I know.

a win is a win
if the guy stalls, lags at the light, misses a shift, whatever the reason a win is a win

whoever gets from point a to point b first is the winner no matter what the reason

by giving hmi all this crap and saying oh well his car was slower and stuff is kinda like the ***** excuses oh I spun off the line, missed a shift, YOU GOT THE JUMP ON ME aer nothing moer then EXCUSES for losing

it's still a chebby and still won no matter how you look at it

and think about this top fuel racing final round
two cars one runs a 1 second light but runs a faster time do you think the judges are going to listen to him when he says it's not fair my car was faster I should win the prize not him.

I know a win is a win, and that the guy with the Jbody has all the credit for winning no doubt about it, it's just not something that is really all that spectacular like he makes it out to be, you know what I'm gettin at? Maybe not lol, but that's all I was saying, I wasn't trying to make you go ape**** about excuses for losing.

I don't think that anyone has a problem with the claim that he beat an LS1, albeit a ****ty driver and it is probally 99% stock, the title of his thread is Cavalier>LS1. At the track he got lucky at the lights and beat an LS1, plus he has a heavily modded Cavalier which is 1 in 1 million. He thinks that his little Cavalier with forced induction is better than an LS1. He got lucky that is all, let him run a modded LS1 and see what happens.

My problem was that the guy is cocky and won't admit that he got lucky and that the LS1 is faster then his car is. I would like to see someone slap on a turbo or s/c on an L98 and race that guy, would be a slaughter.

If I ever lost to a cavalier I'd just have to sell the car...there's no way I'd be able to take the embarassment

That guy did get a little carried away though with his story, if I beat a Viper just on reaction time I sure as hell wouldn't post the story since I know damn well the Viper would wipe the floor with me any other time........kudos to the guy for being lucky and catching some rookie sleeping at the line but he better not get too big of a melon just yet.

Those guys are saying third geners have long hair. I dont have long hair. I hate that stereotype. My L98 will run a high 13 with new tires and the engine is stock 89 with 140 K on ticker. I would love to stomp that dude.

That LS1 ran bad 60 ft. He should be in the 1.9's and then it would have been different.

I wouldn't call the Jbody Wimpy. Sure stock with an autotradgic tranny they are 19 second cars however there is a lot of third party and aftermarket engine upgrades for those cars. The New Ecotec (sp?) was stated that if you run all the bolt ons that you could hit rating of 400hp and up. Thats pretty damn good for a car that weighs in at 2600lbs. If I decide to build the ultimate sleeper, I will be picking the stock sunfire 4 door as the platform and going all engine. It would be unexpected and uncalled for.
