Just click on the link at the bottom of my last post, all my pictures are in that gallery.
I guess I could get a smaller turbo that spooled quicker, but then I'd have a lot less top end. Sure I'd like more low end grunt, but the way that my motor works, top end is where it's at, so I might as well take advantage of what I've got. Besides, this makes it extremely easy to drive around town. I can still get 30 mpg if I want, and if I don't step on it, you'd have no idea I even have a turbo; well, except for the BOV whenever I take my foot off the gas.

Also those cars dont use T5s, and my stock T5 has held up to my car (272 rwhp, 316 rwtq), being powershifted every run for a few years and driven around with no regard for its safety! Torque kills them, and even though he doesnt have a T5, I think it would last longer behind a light car with a lot less torque then a 350 would make!

He was talking about my T5, and yes I'm basically waiting for it to die. I think a T5 could have taken an L98 but GM is wimpy sometimes. Of course my car originally had an LB9, which is quite rare on a GTA because you had to order one from the factory and pontiac would make them by removing the L98/700R4 powertrain and putting in the LB9/T5 powertrain.Originally posted by 25thmustang

I've got to give it to you stu, well done! Although I will never mod an import, or much less own one, that's how I'd do my car. Quick and very understated. No big wheels, goofy wings or GFX, and NO STICKERS... Near stock appearance with good power

i agree with u 100%
some wide 17s would do u well for traction but it would be less of a sleeper.

I don't get it. You think you can wax a Z06? You say at your elevation it's possible...okay...
But what about your car? Is it some super car that isn't affected by elevation? Clear that up for me, thanks.

I have an idea, why don't you go back and read the thread. While you're at it, go ahead and point out where I said I could "wax a ZO6." Have fun. Originally posted by Dan88IrocZ

I think you COULD wax a Z06, but why wax someone elses car when you could wax yours! I hate waxing cars it takes too long.

This is a video that was taken at my race track on Wednesday. The ZO6 for sure sucks at driving, because that is what a regular C5 runs. That Cavalier is running untuned....but the one time he took it to a dyno to see his base run, the A/F was at 18:1

stu u got a nice sleeper in no way it makes ur car ****...plus u know what ur talking about...people so mis-use the word **** and really dont know what it means its funny
question...power shifting is shifting without taking ur foot off the gas while u press the clutch and shift? and do u powershift every gear like 1-2 2-3 3-4?...ive done that in my truck 2-3rd gear im afraid to do it alot
and its not like theres a point...but does it really hurt the clutch or tranny?

Yes powershifting is as you described, and I dont know about anyone else but I powershift every gear! It takes some practice but there is no faster way to shift!Originally posted by §teve

Actually it is an Fbody board, not just Camaros, and I too drive a Mustang... Think about this Im sure youd think a car like Nics should run low 14s, and a car like mine mid 13s. Without us, some members here might be clueless as to what a properly driven and modded Mustang can and will do!Originally posted by del91_305

Im sure me and Nic will stick around for a little while, share what we know and learn what you know. If that bothers you, Im sorry!
I really dont know what double clutching is. I never drove a stick. I like manually shifting autos tho, lol. You guys were talking about powershifting and double clutching popped up in my head.
Nothing wrong with people who dont have thirdgens on this site. It is intended for those who have them, have had them, or have interest in them. Interest in them. So what, they drive a mustang or import. Have you seen their slips? Or their mod list? These 3 guys will crush majority of peoples cars on this site with less money invested. Nic's running mid 13s STOCK. 25th running high 12's with intake swap and exhaust, few extras. A aftermarket superram or miniram or stealth ram would only get me from 14.5 to 14 flat. Show some respect.

Double clutching is a technique that ccame about before syncros showed up in transmissions, and is used most around a race track. Double clutching is used when down shifting gears. Simply put, you shift the car to neutral, let the clutch half way out, tap the gas, then put the clutch all the way in and complete the down shift. This procedure is no longer necessary because of the advances of technology as far as transmissions go, but the technique is still widely used in racing, called a heel/toe shift.
Heel/toe is just where you work the gas, brake, and clutch all at the same time to help maintain the balance of the car, and rev match the motor for the next lower gear. So you are flying into a turn and will need to downshift. With the ball of your right foot, you are applying the brakes, as your speed decreases, you engage the clutch (with your foot still on the brake) and apply throttle with the heel of your right foot, to match the engine speed for the downshift. With the engine speed matched, the car has less of a chance of being thrown off balance in mid turn from the motor trying to catch up to the next lowest gear. You know how when you are high in your powerband, and take your foot off the gas and the car lurches and throws you forward? That kind of thing can get you into trouble when you are near the car's limits of grip in a turn.

Dang dude! that sounds complicated! I think I will stick with my auto. so why in fast and furious does vin say double clutching? New trannies have syncros so why does he need to double clutch? down shifting as in 4-3 3-2? So why the hell would he need to down shift while drag racing? he accelerates, downshift is pointless. Stupid movie.

Sounds to me like your just a damn idiot, who thinks he knows everything. Sell one of you seats and let me know how much you get for it, maybe it will be enough money to replace your air filter. Why the hell would you be registered on this site if you dont even own a F-Body, or from the sounds of them even like them. Mustang 5.0's have the best power to dollar ratio of any car I've ever seen (which is why I almost bought one). I (and many others here) don't like the looks of them, but that is a matter of choice. When it comes to refinement, having been around 5.0's a decent amount, it is what it looks like: a RWD v8 econobox. I really don't see where you are going with that. I also don't see where you're going with the resale value. I've seen 11 second 5.0's go for around 6k. I may disagree with you and not prefer a fox body, but I still think you are worth more to this board than many of the members who own thirdgens.Originally posted by Nic
