Thats another thing, on the track my car wont chirp 3rd even on the street radials, on a 12.9 pass. On the street it spins into 3rd a bit, but the clutch is going, so not as much as it should.

See us Mustang guys are here for a reason, you thought you would take him easily. Good thing we are here to set things straight!

When I was 17, I went through a set of tires every few weeks. I basically trashed my car, road racing, laying strips, perfect circles, fish tails, e brakes, any insane nonsens you can think of.

After I grew up a little, I spent thousands fixing it up, new brakes, new steering, suspension, rims, tires, engine, tranny, rear end...ect.. it was turning into a very nice car and I had no desire to show it off or do anything abusive with it.

It could stop on a dime, handle like it was on rails and take off with minimum tire spin. You would think that no spin meant less power, but I won more races than I could count racing people who just sat and spun thier tires while I took off.

The last tires I had on the car were something like Khumo Ecsta 245/50/16 if I remember right, $550 for the set. I was tired of wasting needles money on my car and fixing everthing that broke, so I got in in good condidtion and just drove it. Ofcourse I did engage in the occasional dog fight, but it was only fun because the people I was racing had no idea what they were racing!

yeah really that would be sucktastic!!! he just told me that he wanted to ride with me anyway. me and Screamin86 are best friends so i might just run him. he's got an bone stock LG4 with 211k on it and 2.77 gears. so i think i could take him my slightly modded LU5 and 3.23's have the upperhand. prolly wait a while till i get used to the car till i race someone though.

Yeah, I bet about 4 hours and you'll be racing. From the sounds of it, your car is almost too slow to get you into trouble anyway.

You know, if Stu starts an argument, argue it with him. Just dont result to bashing him for his preference, because it doesnt prove a point.

I'm not trying to start an argument at all, I'm just pointing out some truths here.
1) You are 16. Every 16 year-old in the world says that they will drive safe and wait to try something, then they go out and do it the very first day. I know, I've been there.

2) You are talking about racing some Corolla, how fast could your car possibly be? What could you really have to get used to?

3) Just like other 16 year-olds, when someone doesn't sugar coat something, you cry like a little girl. Part of growing up and being a man is being able to take the truth and constructive critism (I haven't even critized you for anything yet).

4) Again, like other young kids, someone says something that you don't want to hear, and you start the name calling. Way to go.

truer words have never been spoken!

Trust me, even in a 94 2.3L grand am, I was trying to do burnouts and racing 80's accords, civics. I thought, wtf, why would I do that in this car, but curiosity overcame me. Yeah, its lame, but hell its the nature of the beast!! You have it in you, most everyone does. You dont buy a camaro v-8 to go slow, unless you get an LG4. LOL but its still a v-8.

The plug isnt going to burn the wire up. Think electrical circuit.

how in the heck is a plug going to burn up a plug wire???????

you probably pulled on the wire when you changed the plugs and broke the wire where it meets the clip on the plug ...

plugs dont burn plug wires .........

not the purpose of line loc at all ...LOL...

your not supposed to use it like that its meant to help you get your rpms up to the proper power band then when you release it you are ready to fly

UMMM... I think we know what a line loc is used for. It is used for the burnout. You lock the front tires, while allowing the back tires to spin free. Some guys use it off the line, but with a standard transmission car, you just leave the clutch in, Bring the RPMs up, and let it fly, dont need a line loc for that!

alot of guys i know use line loc on the strip for launching with a stick also

if you bring the rpms up with the clutch in and then let it fly well your gonna be either replacing a clutch ,rearend , ujoints, or burning out again....LOL

My buddy just put line locks in his GM1500 truck. Guy can sit there all day spinning the back end...well until the tires blow up that is. We are getting them installed on my car once I get the new mods installed that is.

So you're saying that dropping the clutch is worse than having the clutch engaged but the brakes locked? Isn't that the same as noseing the car up against a tree and trying to drive through it?

man stu for not trying to start anything you sure use pretty harsh words. just because they're sixteen dosent mean there stupid. just because you were stupid when you were sixteen dosent mean they are. and two if they want to race a carolla why not just because its not fast dosent mean its not fun. i had a 1990 toyota camry with 280,000 miles on it and the biggest thing that had been replaced on it was the starter and i raced my friend in his mini van, i lost, it might have been slow and stupid but it was still fun so quit bashing on people that are just trying to have fun. yeah they do need to drive safe so do, do it in a secluded area but as long as they arn't putting anyone at risk then i dont see the problem. no hard feelings of coarse.

Me and him have been letting the clutch fly for a few years. Nothing ever broke. No clutch, no rear end (mine rear is 100 stock with 133,000 miles) no tranny issues...

You stage with line loc and ride the clutch, you just burnt it out, and have to replace it...

I speak from experience, bring the RPMs up, clutch in and let it fly at or near the rev limiter!!!

Really? It stands still for however long you want without touching the brakes? That sucks for traction, but is nice for showing off!
