Another "Type R" Goes down..

normally I wouldn't even post this, but it was freakin' hilarious.

I'm sitting at a red light on clayton rd, it's like main street where i live, and i hear a fart can revving. So I look along side of me and there is this ridiculous kid sitting there in some "type R" accord (it wasn't a type r.. needless to say.).

He's staring straight at me revving his little honda, and im sure he felt like a badass because he had a stick. Man he looked to be about 15 years old, *attempting* to grow facial hair, and stupid as all hell.

I don't even know why he wanted to race, maybe it was the big Z-28 letters on my doors IROC-Z style.

I shoot him back a rev, smile at him and it was on. I knew it was going to be easy. My *** he had 3 A-Pillar gauges, a giant tach, and enough neon to light a small warehouse.

So with Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water" playing in the background, I give it the full fury of a quarter throttle, moving up to a half about half-ways through the intersection. No tire spin, but again I wasn't trying too.

He was already back about 2 cars, I could hear him flooring it trying to keep up. *** it was funny.

I just shut down because he was back so far it was rediculous. After I do he comes flying past me revving his little honda.

It was rediculous.. the ****-burners around here are no competition.

Just after he zoomed past me, this older lady (id say about 40) in a toyota tacoma comes up next to me and beeps to get my attention. I look over and she's smiling and gives me a thumbs up. That really made my day after a hard day at work lol.

***, kids like that are just pathetic.

alot of kids i know just mess with other cars just to make them run. they want to see you go and see what you got. A friend in a 88 stock accord put on a fartcan and revs at vettes just messing with them. Not that they think they are fast, cuz they know they arent and that the vette or other muscle cars will crush them. I do it in my Iroc to old muscle cars and street rods coming home from car shows. I look over and give a thumbs up or a smile and shoot alittle rev or speed up. Then they floor it past me and let off. Its cool cuz they sound very mean and are fast. just messing around.

Quarter throttle? Give me a break.

If those are the only mods you have done to your car, I doubt your LG4 could spin the tires anyway.

I don't doubt you beat the guy but the details are exagerrated.

My car barely chirps the tires from a stop. I don't have anything done to it yet, but it's in good tune and mechanically sound. You guys must have some impressive LG4s/2.8s or a sorry suspension.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, my car:

Stock LG4
Stock 700R4
215R60/15s all around (plenty of tread)
3.08 open 9-bolt

EDIT2: I'm an idiot... just saw your sig. Sadly, I'd bet a 3.4 has more horsepower than my LG4.

It means that all the power is applied to the tire with the least amount of traction. It's a set-up that makes the car consumer friendly under normal driving conditions, crappy for performance. I've got an open diff in a FWD car. It SUCKS.

Indeed, the Honda Accord Coupe Type R (dubbed AC-R) was introduced in 2000. It came with a 3.0L V6 with 300HP and 231ft/lbs of TQ, 18" lightweight aluminum wheels, carbon fiber body peices, a custom built automatic transmission, limited slip rear, and 235/40R18 tires.

1/4 in 14 seconds
0-60 in 5.7 seconds

It's pretty safe to say that the Accord in the story was not a real Type R.

My suspension is shot to heck.

And my car lights them up real easily, mostly cuz of the sh*tty suspension. I can lay down rubber from a stop just nailing the gas, and usually make them chirp while i'm moving about 5-10 mph by flooring it. I'll make them chirp from a stop at about a quarter throttle, and even then its a long "eeeeepp" not just a chirp.

She also chirps/burns them in second, and my rear end will start to get sideways. Dang built transmissions

When I peel out if I floor it it spins them so fast it just smokes.. don't even hear a sound. If I'm going straight up a hill I can usually make it do the same thing just by flooring it.

If you still don't believe me I'll get my best friend to post up in here. He is under the name "3492rs" I think.

Mostly I attribute all this to the fact that my rear end is so light that me and a friend can almost lift it off the ground (we're big big guys and I have lightened it considerably - took out alot of stuff for the interior restoration) and the fact that yes, my suspension is garbage. Completely shot.

It's so bad I could still chirp the tires when my rear end was about 300 lbs heavier. (Damn stereo equipment)

The 3.4's came stock at 160 HP and 198 TQ. And yeah they're pretty quick. My buddy with the RS (mentioned in the previous post) swapped in a 3.4 for his 3.1 and before his torque mount broke he could light em up from a dead stop too.

There is an Accord Type R, in Japan. If you've heard of the Acura TSX, that is called the Accord Type R in Japan. Any Accord Type R's you see stateside are just r icers.

Let apologize for coming off like an ***, urbanhunter44. It wasn't intentional. Lately, this forum has become more of a place to post "TF&TF" stories than legitimate kill stories.

Sounds like your car needs a new everything.

Don't feel bad, though. When I had just bought my car, the tires had no tread on them whatsoever. My friend has a Grand Prix with a V6 and we were out "racing" one day before I had bought new tires. During one race, my out-of-tune, stock LG4 managed to spin the tires all the way through first gear and a little bit into second. I also lost to my friend in the GP. It was humiliating.

haha its cool man.

yeah it needs a new everything for sure. The body work is coming along nicely, next thing before the paint will either be starting the build on a 350 or a new sound system lol.

this car is definetly a project car. hehe

No offense, but it's really not hard at all to spin the tires on a T5.

EDIT: Furthermore, what exactly are you trying to prove? Losing traction is a bad thing. I would be more impressed if you told me this 2.8 ran 13s or something...
