88 IROC 350 vs 87 Corvette

88 IROC with rebuilt 350 (3k on it), mild cam, rebuilt 700R4 w/ shift kit (same miles as engine), otherwise stock....vs. 87 Corvette, 100k on engine and automatic transmission.....
I know which would win but to convince my friend (whos buying the 'Vette probably right after i pay for the IROC)

hmmm outta be close. My money is still on the Corvette, whats your gears and his? the Corvette L98 should be easy low 14s with the L98 in it. If he has 2.59 gears and your 3.23 or whatever my money is on you then

this one is going to depend alot on gearing and driver experience ....as in launching and traction control....

the problem with the 'vette is that its for sale for 3,500 dollars......i dunno, but that seems like well....somethings not right.....
its L98 vs L98...., yeah i'm pretty sure the L98 in the 'vette has a little more power, but its also got 97,000 miles more, and judging by the price, hasnt been taken care of perfectly....
not sure bout the gears though.....
only one way to really find out though :-)

hmm this is going to be a close race if both drivers can launch without wheelspin

my own L98 Vette turned 13.9s at 99mph 100% bone stock. it had the 3.07 gears

an 88' IROC with an unknown "mild" cam would probably produce similar E/Ts and trap speeds

keep us posted
