Finally Got my *** waxed.

A crotchrocket guy reved up to me, big mistake, he got me off the line, down the road, picked up at about 55 and had me by at least 10 cars at 100mph I'm heart broken

It was modded I do believe because it was much louder sounding than any crotch rocket i have ever heard.

Damn that thing was fast

Since when does the sound of someones exhaust determine whether it's modded or has a lot of hp? Maybe he took out his baffles. Must not have been an experienced rider to only beat you by "10."

I just figured you guys would like to hear that I got beat, how would me losing be "stroking my ego"?

And if you heard the bike you would understand, it was LOUD, and it wasn't just baffles.

LOL, your not an LS1 so you are not invinceable. Its ok to loose to a bike. I mean, its only a 500lb bike with 180hp or so, right? Those arent quick or nothing . LOL

yeah, modded bikes with good exhaust are loud as hell. Its one of the best sounds i have ever heard. Could have been a Hayabusa which runs 9's stock. But even simple exhaust nets them with big gains.

I have/had a '94 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 with a 600cc putting out something like 74hp or so. Weighs in at around 400-450lbs (not a light-weight!) plus driver, and they supposedly run high 12's. I never ran it though, actually I never got a chance to get it running.

Bikes = fast.

hey not everyone wins every time they race ....LOL

just because it was loud doesnt mean it was modded it could have just been a header and muffler on it .......

C'mon guys. I have a supercharged LT1 and it will not even approach running 11's because lack of traction and a dragstrip at 3,200 ft. I'll slap around Harleys and stuff, but I don't mess with sport bikes. It's not a pretty sight.

you got to be deep into the 10's to challenge most sport bikes. Most run 10's and dont launch good so a car that launches great, and runs 10's at lower trap speeds wont do good against the bike from a roll. Acceleration is the key.

Check this out.

A bike wieghs like 500lbs lets say. has 180hp (yamaha R1)
Thats 2.777 lbs per hp.

to get a car to compete with that? Lots of power. Say you got a 3500 lb car. How much power do you need? To say competative you need to match the bikes lbs per hp. 3500/2.777 = 1260hp!!!

thats just an estimate, cuz really you could have lots less and with gears stay competitve against them from a roll. So I would say 700-1000 hp would be great place to start!!!

Why do you think I have an LG4.
I start off with a little horsepower and gain respect. Most I've ever driven is my bro's '69 Camaro. Roughly 450 hp from the flywheel. Kinda scared me, but also started me off on the path to wanting more.

The other way to beat a bike is to race faster than 120 mph where you have the drag advantage. You still have to be fast of course.

lol if I remember right your the one who got yourself on probation I think with a post regarding rx7speed sux and the whole board started chewing you out sticking up for the import guy

but no worries now

wait though I have a question to the top starter......... this guy thinks he can take you while he is on cinder blocks?

you might as well make it fair and remove your motor.... hell I'm sure even pushing your car you would be faster then him

but with a v8 from those days even on all 8 running stock it will be a good race but that is about it..... the car is still going to be slow and no 300hp for him unless there is something modded on it fairly well

The 2004 Yamaha R1 weighs just over 400lbs and has about 172RWHP and 74RWTQ. It does 0-60 in about 2.8sec w/ a good rider and will do a 9.93 in the quater. Roll ons against this bike would even be tough at 120MPH, it doesn't top out till 186MPH and thats because its goverened there. The new 600's are even doing mid 10's in the quarter wich is damn fast.
I was goofing off around a kawi zx6rr from a 40mph roll and he took off on my ***, i have never felt so slow and i dont concider my car slow, mid/high 13's is still quick.

Summed up: Dont race sportbikes unless you want to lose.

I don't think a stock R1 makes 172 at the rear wheel, maybe flywheel.
