one thing those two have same options except engine. plus your stupid im just going to make you look dumb now a 305 is not a 350 the blocks are different you cant take a 305 block and make a 350 you dumb idiot just becuase they look alike doesnt mean they are look it up.

I am well aware of the differences in the blocks. Not once did I say that they were the same. I said a lot of the parts were the same. Maybe your research will tell you that. Here I will go ahead and fill you in on some of the basics that you will find in your research. I doubt you will tell me anything that I don't already know.
What is different
1. The bore sizes are different.
2. The water jacket thicknesses and locations are different.
3. The pistons are larger in a 350 (see number 1)
What is the same about them.
External dimensions
Bore spread
Accessory holes
Cam style
Rod design
Crank design
Bearing design
Head style
Lifter style
Valvetrian configuration
intake maifold mounting
exhaust port location
deck angle
They both evolved the same since 1955. That means when the 350 recieved a single rear main, so did the 305. When the 350 went roller, so did the 305. Most parts came out of the same batch. Why do you think engines are given a generation notation? They vary the egnines applications with different bore and stroke combos. It would cost to much to make an entirely different motor for each and every vehicle.
You do know that TPI was never designed for a 350 don't you? Then how can they use it on it? You do know that the G92 L98 and LB9 had the exact same cams don't you? I use an 350 LT1 cam in my 305 TBI. You know how I can do that; because it is a roller cam or the same exact design feature that is used in Gen I and II motors. I really don't want to have this discussion with you. We have already gotten off track.
Even the machine shop cost for rebuilding small blocks are the same. The same tooling and procedures are done. It is actually cheaper to rebuild a 350 than a 305 for that very reason. Because people want to maximise their HP per $ spent.

There are alot of stock cars in japan, 4 and 6 cylinders, that go 12's from the factory with a good driver. some examples are the Skyline, Sylvia, 180SX, and laurel.
The hot thing now in the JDM-USA world, is to ship one of those motors over (SR20DET, CA18DET, RB25DET, RB20DET etc...)
and drop it into a similar (or not) JDM car, like a 240SX or Nissan hardbody truck, or even a lexus.
My 240SX, with just the SR20DET motor, NO MODIFICATIONS just dropped the motor in. And I mean nothing else is done, even have the factory steel hubcap rims.... I went 12.9 @ 113 on a cold day with a 2.2 60' Time. The car makes 267RWHP, and weighs 2650Lbs without me, in full body / interior trim including A/C.

If you have that much horsepower from stock
srdet .
It could be built up.
I srdet usually comes 200-210 hp.

So you got me, I have one mod... Greddy Boost controller.
I turned the boost up to 15PSI exactly... thats how I got those numbers. My AFM is almost maxed too... around 92%; this is not uncommon for SR20DETs... in fact mine is considered a runt around here, there are those going 12.6 and better, but they all have limited slip diff's, I have a one legger.

I just wanted to bring up this point about 3rd gen
I recently purchased.
Im writing this story because most of the guys
here are enthusiasts, and I respect that.
First off I never owned a muscle car .
Im not saying that my car is a muscle car, but I dont have the money to get a decent muscle car from the early 70 and late 60s.
So when I saw this Camaro I said this looks like
a race car and it has an 8 cylinder engine.
Body was clean but not mint and It drove straight,
with no smoke has some torque and a nice V8 rumble
which turned me on big time.
The car for me looks really cool thats about it,
thats why I bought it.
I had no experience with this type of car ever,
I was a little dissapointed at first because I thought the car
should be alot faster.
What I didnt know then and what I know now makes a big difference in how I feel about this car..
I can appreciate it for what it is and the history behind it.
Truth is when I go to the parking lot to get in my Camaro
Im happy, not to be driven my Mini Van.
