the closest race I had was a talon TSI probably even with me but he must have missed a gear or something because I heard a big rev and he fell back and never caught up not beat tho....

Maybe no one races you? 75% of all cars on the road today are faster than a stock LG4.

There isn't much point to this thread so don't be but I will let you guys determin its fate.

Hmm I have to agree most stock new cars would run you, SUVS and sedans alike...

Also go to the track, give yourself motivation to go faster.

I have to say over in my neck of the woods, my cars nothing special at all. Mid 12s will get you suckered into a race and beat. We have some serious proven 9 second cars in our area that come out to play. 500rwhp cars are getting walked by stock looking WRXs and such! It helps to have one of the biggest cruise scenes in New England, but still, lots of fast cars!

There are some nice cars around here, but they're few and far between (excluding the guys on TGO from my area).

Your only 45 minutes to an hour from WIR. Bring your car to RSD on May 6th if its up and running. You will see some serious street cars there.

any one here serious about racing is in the 11's. everyone else is either poor trying to get there on a budget, or posing and doesn't know what they are doing.

i'm in the serious but poor catagory, only managed a 13.70 so far.

9 second cars cruising the street?? man... thats crazy... My scene sux but a low 13 second car (at the strip not a magazine voodoo corrected ET) , will get some respect. Low 12's will win most races against non-tubbed cars. Most imports in my area are all show and no go. My buddies 92 Talon TSI is a real sleeper looking stock and running 12.80's on race gas. The smell would give him away if i woulda raced him unknowingly. Nitrous is odorless....
Im in a small town 45 min south of Madison. Madison sux too.

2. Rent
3. Car
4. Food
5. Extra stuff like movies, ect.

it's amazing, i have no problem driving 200+ miles for free parts, or throw down $650 on a new tranny or just recently threw down $240 for a slightly used posi unit, but i can't seem to bring myself to eat much better than raman noodles. but at $.13 a pack, $2 last me like a frickin week!

This comming from a guy who claims to have a 10 second street car. There is a very streetable 9 second supercharged mustang that runs at my local track for RSD.There is also a ford lightning that the owner uses for a work truck that runs deep into the 10's. Oh yeah, both of those guys actually have timeslips.

i guess everyones thoughts are different on a fast car. i live in a smaller town pop little below 3000 people and most everyone here who goes to the local drag strip thinks fast is screaming throught the traps at a 15.0 at 90. to me a good fast street car should run a mid 14 sec time. it makes it a fun car to drive and there is a rare chance you will get beat around my area. im hopping my maro will run atleast a 14.0 with the new motor. thats just my .02

see, 14.0 is first round fodder here. 12's is average. i want at least 12.9 outta the 305 before i pull her for something bigger. than i'll be considered average. right now i am slow. 11's is getting more and more common with the introduction of faster street cars from the factory. even some evo's, wrx's, and srt4's in the high 11's down here.

the fastest car willing to race in my town was a blue 90 ish chevy cavalier z-24 with basic intake chip exhaust kinda stuff and a plymouth laser turbo awd (not sure on model tsi?) and he had the same mods plus an aftermarket blow off i think (it was loud) and an impala ss custom exhaust dubs paint all show and then i bought my T/A and showed em all my tailights on the old county dump road what made me laugh was when i beat the z-24 the guy was all talkin about "i need better tires mine spin too much." when he didn't do much more than a chirp at the start while i whaled on my rear tires and found out my car is faster when i spin em on the start. nobody owns vettes or rwd sports cars for that matter but my brother-in-law just got a new durango with a hemi and i rode in it and it felt faster then my T/A! i was straining to keep my head off of the seat! I think he might get me

The smell would give him away if i woulda raced him unknowingly. Nitrous is odorless....
Im in a small town 45 min south of Madison. Madison sux too.

the imports here are a joke forsure. eng. swaps that net low 16's and 3 wrx sti cars that have such bad drivers they have to run 15's (butt slow) every cavi and grand am driving kid thinks it's a race car
