theres this honda civic running around town thats had a motor swap. I don't know much about import engines but its a DOHC VTEC SIR. 1. something I think. Ive heard it puts out like 200 hp. Anyone know anything about these engines? How do these compare to an L98?

if he did a swap into a later model civic it might be nothing that special but a good little swap into the ealier hatches or crx's with their light weight might be something to worry about


also do you know what motor for sure it was or any other mods done to it?


either way I still would say if it is just left at motor swap you prolly have the win

 

I dont really know the year. It looked like the same model that was in the fast and the furious, the three black civics that attacked the truck. I saw the engine myself the other night, I believe its a 1.8 lt. The engine said right on it DOHC VTEC SIR. I think there was a CAI done to it also. The 5.7 is getting a major overhaul itself very soon. New headers and exhaust, intake manifold, new cam, aluminum driveshaft, port and polish. Just to name a few.

 

Well I dont know anything about 4 banger engines, but I do know DOHC (Dual Over Head Cam) motors have ALOT of potiential. YOu could very well being dealing with 250+ hp

 

Only if he spent $3,500 on it if it's N/A, which it is because it has a CAI. It's not so much the power you have to worry about, but the power to weight ratio.
